out of state checks?

The few places I've tried won't even cash these and places like Amscot ass rape you. I don't have a bank account, so how would I go about trying to cash one of these?

Don't think any place would cash an out of state check for security reasons. (Takes longer to process, and they won't have the info to see whether it's fake or not).

Sign it over to a family member or a friend you trust so they can deposit into their account and give you the money.

And then work on opening an account. All the cool kids are doing it.

Banks will usually cash checks for a small fee if you don't have an account with them. At least they do around here.

only if it's written off their bank, fyi. (ie. bank of america will only cash bank of america checks to non account holders).

Well I have an account sorta. My school refund account. The only problem is they don't actually have a physical bank I can walk into. So my school refund goes in, I use the card and it deducts money, but i don't really have a way to add money, other than the refunds, which are auto-deposited.

Take the check to a bank and deposit it into the account you open. It might take a couple days before you can access the money but they shouldn't charge you anything for that check in particular.

Not positive, but if it's a personal check, I don't think wal-mart will cash them.

then I don't think so, it can vary from state to state though. Is there a bank in your state that the check is drawn off of?
