    Crystarium Options (Ch.10)

So the game just unlocked all roles for all characters, which I think was a useless move... especially since each node there costs insane amounts of cp.
Has anyone actually played with this? I assume that once you get to Gran Pulse and can farm around, there won't be a problem to level whatever you want for whoever you want, but I just find this to be pretty pointless at this time. =/

I honestly think that sticking to Light/Snow/Vanille is okay for me... the only thing I really want is Haste, but I won't sub Sazh in for any one of those three... so should I just level someone up as a SYN?

Yes. Get haste. It's overpowered. Also a million CP only fills like half of the "extra job" crystarium, so it's a bitch to level but worth it. The extra levels don't give nearly as good stats though. It's better to leave them until after the game except for SYN/SAB. You should get those

Well, since I decided to go with a party consisting of Light/Snow/Vanille, I also have SAB, so I guess I'll just level either Snow or Light up with SYN up until the point where they get Haste and stop... otherwise, I really like this party setup. (and I stated why in the party thread... they pretty much have everything you would want, BESIDES Haste that is. )

It's would cost like 900,000 CP for Snow to learn Haste and far more for Light. Vanille can't learn it at all.

Ugh, there's no way I'm switching in Sazh or Hope for Vanille though... I just find her way too valuable. =/ And besides, if I take her out then I won't have a SAB. I suppose I can always have a Light/Sazh/Fang or Light/Hope/Fang group if I really want to keep all the present roles and also have Haste, but I've really gotten used to playing with this trio heh. (mostly for their RAV/RAV/RAV)

You could get some Haste boots, but they only last for the first 90 seconds of battles. Another option is stacking ATB Boost accessories, but you give up a lot of slots to do that.

    Light/Hope/Fang group is awesome.

Yeah I bet, but I'm still obsessed with 1 COM attack >> RAV/RAV/RAV too much to let it go.

I'm using Light/Fang/Hope as well. Just got to chapter 10..is Haste a Sazh exclusive? If so I'll just switch Sazh and Hope and just have Light cure while Sazh gets Faith/Bravery/Haste on.

Nope, many people can get haste. I used Hope for haste in my game, although Fang is good because she can AOE buff people.

Light/Hope/Sazh has Haste and can do RAV/RAV/RAV but you give up Sentinel. If you need Sentinel you can sub in Snow for Light and still keep Haste and RAV/RAV/RAV. Both those setups lack SAB though.

Hope also brings defensive spells that the party you play with lacks.

I never really used any party buffs other than very early on in the game where you only have Sazh and Vanille... so that's not my main concern.

Haste will be nice for bosses, but other than that it's not really practical to waste time on regular enemies just to buff the party up with it. Same goes to SAB, I rarely use it outside of boss fights or battles I seem to struggle on.

The Light/Hope/Fang setup sounds nice, although I still think Snow is a better tank than Fang.

I actually also just realized that I don't have Slow with my party setup... Another reason why Fang is useful. =/ Damn, I really want Snow in my party lol.

Hehe... For some reason I just really like the character in general... and that's without the fact that I've found him to be a better tank than Fang in most cases, and having RAV is a giant plus when I'm trying to stagger annoying enemies like the Behemoths in Ch.10.

NINJA EDIT: Haven't realized how powerful Vanille's SAB debuffs really were until now... with Deprotect, the Behemoth that took me 2 minutes to take down earlier got taken down in 20 seconds. >.>

You definitely want the Great Wall (all defenders). It's pretty much necessary for some of the missions to greatly reduce damage.

How far do you have to level SEN to make that effective? Just to Guard or whatever?

Yeah, they're strong. The dubuffs can be potentially placed with a lot less ATB cost than buffing everyone, but they can be resisted or monsters can be immune. With Sazh you can buff Haste, Bravery, Faith, Enspells, etc. and you'll destroy with those up. They can't be resisted obviously, but they take longer to set up. The effect is similar in the end.

Try Light or Fang, Sazh, and Vanille and watch the big numbers!

Lv1 is fine. Cause what you usually do is to switch before the move hits (and then you can immediately switch back to whatever)
