    TV Prices

So I've been trying to find a good price on a 46 inch LCD TV with good color depth (i.e. deep color.) I've seen them go on sale for around $1050 although I'm having trouble finding them this low anymore. I've mostly just been checking Best Buy. Any suggestions?

Are you dead set on an LCD, Mojo? Kareface had some pretty convincing words as well as dispelling some myths in a thread about a month ago for Plasmas. As a guideline Newegg has 3 46" Panasonics ranging from $850-$1200. Samsung LCDs are supposedly very solid and affordable from online retailers like Amazon and Newegg; something in the same ballpark as the Plasmas earlier, but you'll be paying more for comparitive features in the LCDs compared to the Plasmas.

As far as specific price, I'd find a 2 or 3 models you're set on and then try deal and price comparison sites like slickdeals and pricegrabber.

Any Samsung, Sony, or LG model is fine as long as it's 46 inches and has good color depth (generally anything below $1000 isn't going to have deep color, which is critical for what I'm going to do with it.) LED LCD TVs are fine too. Plasma isn't really an option for me, I live with people who have broken my shit out of negligence on many occasions.

Anyways, I know what the prices typically range, and I know a good deal. It's finding these good deals that's the problem.

I'll keep my peepers on my deals RSS in Reader, but personally when looking for specific deals I really like fatwallet's forums because they break deals down into categories: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/television/

I just bought (like 5 mins ago) a samsung ln46b750 from amazon - their prices are the best I've seen (was 1266$, lowest manufacturer price is supposed to be 1399 which is what it is almost everywhere else). It was the best deal for the best tv imo. There might be a lower price buried deep out there somewhere, but amazon's benefits (free scheduled shipping, willingness to credit you if the price drops, no tax to pay like in a store) are really good compared to getting it anywhere else imo.

dont mean to necrobump, but where is a good place to buy display model or refurb TVs? i was looking at ebay for a bit, but i havent really found anything to grab my attention lol. i was at brandsmart today, and the only thing that caught my eye was a DLP samsung which im def considering. but like i said, i could care less about quality... i just want something to take up space int he guest room, maybe i might have to craiglist it afterall. i'll try sears or something later this week and see if they have any good deals going on. i never like to buy shit brand new anyway

Stay with LCD and Samsung for the best.

If your looking to go into plasma I would go Pioneer.

It's not all it is hyped up to be - There nice, sure... However you can find a set just as good if not better for a pretty price and from all the things I have read... Good Luck if you have to get in touch w/ support for Samsung -.-

Seems Samsung is a bandwagon thing these days >.>

Pioneer does not make Plasma anymore... Panasonic is the new king of Plasma.

I'm looking into getting a bigger tv with something between a 42"-50" and I stumbled across this one on newegg. 46" Toshiba, 120hz, for $869 with free shipping. Can anyone give me some insight about this tv?
