Cheap motel/hotel in manhattan

Any of you guys know a nice/clean spot that cost about $80-$90 for the day i wanna spend a full day at one with my girl for some private time for our anni, tired of having to keep it low cause other people in the house.

I suppose it'll depend on location and quality of room. The Oriental is a top class hotel less than a block away from Central Park, but is pretty upscale.

Edit: Scratch that, even their standard rooms are about 700 a night lawl. What kinda of location are you looking for and I'll try to think.

downtown manhattan if possible again not to expensive no more then $100 for the day we are basically looking for a place that is not in a shitty area and is clean cause we are spending the whole time in bed anyway, Shower is a plus too.

I'm sure there are places but I wouldn't be able to think of any off the top of my head that fit that range in any of the good/touristy places. I'll ask around but you may want to check expedia or priceline to see if a quick search nets any results that meet your criteria.

Well Parkchester isn't really Manhattan. It's in the Bronx but the 6 train goes right down Lexington Ave. If you are going to go that route, you'll probably be able to find more options, but again, it's not a premium location so it might have lower standards. There's a bunch of shit motels and hotels but obviously you wouldn't want to stay there. Go on the sites I mentioned above and you could even google earth the location and see if you like the area.

I stayed there before, I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't planning on leaving the room lol. It isn't bad if you're going to do the tourist thing and use it as a place to crash out, but the rooms are small, dingy and the beds weren't all that nice.

Maybe I have higher standards, but I would put pony up for at least Comfort Inn, Best Western etc. especially for an anniversary. The rooms aren't horrible, but not a place I would want to stay all too long. On the plus side, it is in a great location.

You're gonna be hard pressed to find anything under a hundred per night (before the city's lodging tax).. I went down to the city last summer and stayed here for about $150+tax - room was nice but EXTREMELY small (it had a full-size bed and that took up half the room).

Downtown Manhattan for $100 is not only not going to happen, but if it did, the conditions would not be conducive to you and the lady friend wanting to bone. How far in advance are you looking to book? The further in advance the better shot you have. If its within like 2-3 weeks, good luck finding a room, and a small one in a chain hotel at that, for less than $150.

this is in a fun part of town but it also has rooms by the hour, so if you dont mind a noisey hotel, go for it.

Yeah, uh, you aren't going to find a hotel in manhattan for anywhere near 100 a night. Perhaps you should look in one of the outer boroughs like the bronx or brooklyn if its so important to be downtown.

Yeah, pretty much what people said. A "decent" hotel for 100$ in Manhattan does not exists. If it did, you'd probably have to book in a year advance and Mafia would be after its owner.

Probably should do what Ceph said, and get a hotel in Hoboken or Jersey City can prolly find one that has a nice view of manhattan (will probably be a better view than a cheap hotel actually in the city), and you can hop on one train (the PATH) and be in NYC in no time.
