    Array Help

    I'm trying to parse a text file into an array using stringTokenizer. its working fine, but my douchebaggish teacher didnt put any newline characters in it so we're having a hard time separating it.

    String outString, fulltextString;
    BufferedReader input;
    DataOutputStream output;
    fulltextString = "";

    input = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("Countriesp4.txt"));

    I need it to split every fourth line, like how it displays Token: 480000Italy

    it should be 480000 italy clearly.

    Given that the token in question always has the form "<some_numbers><some letters", you could use a regular expression to split it?

    all it would take is a couple of spaces between each break but he says that nooo you cant alter the data in any way.. ugh i hate this douche bag.

    That text file has a line feed character between each line. Try reading one line in at a time and doing the split on each line individually. BufferedReader has a readLine() command so it's pretty easy.

    You say there's no newline characters, but there definitely is.
