If you want epic story read a fucking book you lazy shitstains.
There's a lot of vidya game threads in the last 24 hours.
I played secret of mana last month and its story was stupid as shit
it was however very pretty
Fags
All I want is balance between the two.
Hey look, applicable here too.
I cant believe people give a shit about story in video games. I don't tell my friends "hey you need to play this game because the STORY IS AMAZING" but rather because the game is fun.
If I want to recommend people shit with a good story I'll tell them about a show/movie/book/slant crap for them to watch/read.
God of War trilogy was amazing, I don't know where they came up with the idea for all those gods who rule over different things and stuff
Stories are kind of essential, considering they are the driving part of why it is you are progressing in the game, right? I mean, if you don't want story in your games, go jump up and down a pogo-stick.
But if you are implying that games should be like chess or checkers, where there's no underlying premise and character involvement, then that's different.
Anti your thread is fucking retarded.
I couldn't even get past page 1, the facepalming was too much.
i wish more people booked
I think I more take exception to the idea that video game stories "used to be good". The ratio of good stories to bad is basically unchanged from the SNES era that most people are referring to when they say "used to be". Most games back then had absolute shit for story, and most games now do. There were a few rare gems, and there are a few rare gems now. If anything the progression of graphics have allowed for better storytelling in the good games (the incredible expressiveness of NPCs with the source engine comes to mind), but nostalgiafags will always have a selective memory and hold up the few exceptions from the past as if it was the norm.
GAMES R SRS BZNIS
