    boot-up sequence/sleep recover issues

Alright, so I run the following system: ASUS CG 5275 Essentio, Win7 64-bit, and stock hardware with the exception of a Radeon 5770HD 1 GB. I have come to the current determination that putting the PC to sleep is a bad idea. Although, I would still like to isolate the issue, and find out why the PC is doing what it is doing.

The first scenario is as follows; if I put the PC to sleep, more often than not, when I try to wake it up the system will not detect the monitor and I get no video. Keep in mind that I use HDMI to feed video from the system itself.

Now the second scenario is not the hugest issue but it does it enough to concern me. When I power up the system I will hear all the normal processes occur as the system boots, but the one sound I hear that tells me if the system will even give me video is the sound of the video card's cooling fan spinning. It does a brief high spin sound, louder than the normal, making me think the system does a test on the video card. This sound will tell me that I will get video and the system will boot as usual. Every once in a while though, I will not hear that sound and I will not get video nor will the system finish the boot sequence. I will have to do a hard reset to attempt to get it to work.

What is causing these scenarios to occur? I have attempted to troubleshoot the issue by reinstalling drivers and software and ensuring the video card itself is properly mounted. If anyone can help me in troubleshooting this issue, I'd appreciate it a lot.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: Any troubleshooting I have mentioned in this post has not resolved the issue.

Sleep mode has never worked well for me in any windows system. Win7 however has some new stuff, can try looking into the hybrid sleep/hibernation mode thing. Sorry, I cant be more specific or more help. I'd just tough it out, leave the pc on or shutdown/startup when needed.
