Was it happening on not-the-biggest-update-day-in-FFXI in several years? Or is today your first day using the wireless?
No this was happening before the update as well. It was downloading just fine then i get the likes of error 0250 etc. Even playing before the update yesterday id be moving around fine no drop on S and R and id just be booted off the server after 5-10min.
Shouldn't this be under tech?
run->
open->"cmd"
ping google -t
Will keep your priority at the highest level, the changing of priority with dongles is what is disconnecting you.
google= its address name
got the error "Need 10 posts to post URLs"
Ah thanksAnyone got the address for the PoL servers? >< Forgotten how to look this up :s
I think you should be fine with doing just constantly pinging google.com, I used to do this back in dial-up days.
When the internet acts up in my condo building (poor latency) I use a Motorola Droid on Verizon 3G service. I can usually maintain 3G service but sometimes I r0 all the way to 0% and then regain service. The worst that can happen to me is that I'll switch to 1X instead of 3G which is mostly unplayable. When this happens I disconnect my phone and usually get 3G service back right away.
Anyone have a good feel for how much data FFXI consumes (average, assuming your actually doing stuff, etc)? I'm thinking about using mobile broadband to play for a bit, but I'm curious how quickly I'll encroach the typical 5GB/month limit.
Well its capped at 56k
and if you remember how many weeks it took to download 5 gigs on dial up, you got your answer lol.
