    driver question

I DL'ed a game called Shaiya because my cousin wanted me to play it with him until FFXIV came out so I did. I dl'ed the game played it for alittle last night a little this morning. I tried to start it up this afternoon and when the log in screen popped up my screen went black with white lines then started making a buzzing/clicking sound. ctrl alt delete didnt do anything so i reset the comp. everything started up fine tried the game again and the same thing happened however this time i waited a couple secs like 10-15 and then the game went back to normal a message at the bottom of the screen read something like a driver stopped working but fixed itself (dont quote me on that) i typed in my password and right before i hit enter it happened again. this time ctrl alt delete worked and i stopped the game. reset comp again tried 1 more time and got into the game this time ran around for a couple mins and then screen went green with green lines. had to do a hard reset this time. havent tried it again. I have a g73 with HD5870 in it only 2 weeks old so im sure i have enough power to run the game. i did dl dx9 for the FFXIV benchmark so maybe that has something to do with it but i am lost as to where i began diagnosing(sp) the problem. please help

sorry for the wall-o-text and that im such a newb when it comes to this stuff. i prob dont even diserve to own this nice of a laptop lol

ok apperantly im not the newb i thought i was lol or maybe i still am. i poked around a little bit and typed in device in search and went under devive manager and looked around and check out the GPU I thought I had the newest drivers from the ati website but apperantly i didnt so it dl'ed the new drivers and the game is now working ok. so i either just got lucky or did nothing and the comp fixed its own hiccups idk lol but if there is anything ne1 wants to let me know about this that im sure i dont please feel free or this can b locked

That is the message you get if drivers from ati crash so updating (or in some cases changing to an older driver) is a good method to fix it lol
