Some people may be bitter. When I stopped playing FF I was certainly not bitter, just not willing to dedicate the time necessary to play the damn game!

Now I'm not a student with more important things to do (read: girls and beer), I can play the game again. But the game is dying or dead, so FF14 it is!

FFXI was fun for that first year, then the magic wore off. I'm expecting the same thing again.

I wasn't bitter, just realized that the gameplay was built on a dated system that was not keeping up with the times or providing any challenge. I wanted desperately for them to improve the gameplay so that I could enjoy all of the other great aspects the game had to offer, but otherwise it just wasn't worth it.

I stepped away for a while because of the community, and playing a faster-paced MMO with better design decisions(WoW--hate it or love it, there were at least a dozen fundamental ideas I wish had been implemented in XI) kept me away for too long for me to really settle back into it.

But in the long run, I spent most of my significant MMO time playing XI and getting just absorbed by the depth of the quests/lore and the world itself. I expect that XIV will absorb me in a similar fashion.

I loved ffxi i just couldn't keep up with other players to participate in the endgame so i stopped playing. Really excited about a ff mmo i can play with just a few friends + crafting and gathering classes! My favorite thing about xi was the crafting.

I also can't wait for FFXIV. Moving to a small town sucks and there's not a whole lot to do but work, study, go to the gym and drink. I find it kind of wierd that the time I played FFXI is the time I saved a lot of money. So yeah, gotta play FFXIV, after all I am planning on moving out of this town.

Quit FFXI almost 3 years ago, but I loved the game, every aspect. The reason I quit was because it was starting to impede in my social life. I am cautiously optimistic for FFXIV, not because of the game itself, but because I don't want to get addicted.

Hmm.. I guess I quit almost 2 years ago. I played LOTRO for a few months during that time and it was just a huge let down. I'm in for FFXIV. The hype is building and I cannot wait, but I'm prepared to bash my head into the wall at the same time.

Quit in 08, haven't canceled til 09. Definitely gonna start this up. Could never get my friends/brothers into playing FF11, except for when we first started out we shared 3 characters over one account. They never wanted to restart characters or even buy their own copy to start again. They're all pumped for FFXIV, I have like 7 friends all willing to get it on release and play it with me.

Quit FFXI during the start of ToAU. Me and a friend are both gonna play, hopefully most of blue gartr will make chars on the same server... wont that be fun lol.
