Forticant skill cap?

Hello, I've been skilling all of my combat skills to as high as I can on Forticants and was wondering, exactly how high of a combat skill can you get on them? Staff I couldn't get past 240. I've been working on sword now, and its stuck at 210 for over an hour!! Why do these skill level caps appear different for different weapons? Is that truely the case, or do the forticants vary in level? Please, if somebody could shine some light on this situation, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ^^
