Wonder what it would be like in a fully privatize for-profit society?

    Here is a preview.

This is why minarchism and anarchism fail.

Now expand this into Police protection and other Emergency services.

Obviously tongue in cheek and about HCR but still relevant.

What's the point of having money if you get treated like everyone else?

The system seems to be working as intended.

    i.e. removing the poor.

I think it's pretty fucking sad that human beings couldn't think "Maybe we should put that fire out, it's our job". Who gives a fuck that they were firefighters. If I walked by and saw a truck full of assholes doing nothing, I would grab a fucking hose and do it myself. Then I'd turn around and tell those shitheads that if I ever saw any of their houses on fire, I would tape them up and super glue their dog onto their dicks while they watched their family burn inside.

Guarantee you'd see a policy shift within a week after that.

Well damn, I thought that I could have a totally for profit anarchistic society where I wouldn't have to actually pay my own way, you mean I can't combine the stuff I like from socialism, with contradicting things I like about capitalism, and make sense?

    Good to know.

What is it about internet autism that makes the people who have it lean towards anarcho-capitalism or just plain anarchism?

I'm friends with a couple of local firefighters in Chicago, and there's always a different side to things to consider. For example, here in the shitty areas of our city, there's two companies that do the work boarding up houses after the firefighters put them out. The two companies apparently are run and employed with rival gang members, and they often get into brawls at the scene of burned out buildings, always getting the cops called and shit. Supposedly one or the other of the groups is actually setting fires in abandoned buildings and foreclosed houses to give themselves business in boarding them up, because alot of recent fires have obviously been set, using stoves, aerosol cans, gasoline, etc....

You figure, these firefighters are putting their lives at risk because a bunch of hoods keep lighting shit up, pair that with the fact that a good number of them are required to work as EMT's in shitty areas on the weekends (dealing with all sorts of absolutely wretched bullshit situations like first responders to gunshot wounds and all that), and you really can't blame them for much.

I'm not gonna put my career on the line and end up potentially jobless to put someone's fire out. They shoulda paid their fee.

I wouldn't know, I've got the type that fucks with my ability to gather information from body language/properly interpret social cues/etc, and technically everyone online who isn't watching a webcam suffers from the same impediment.

As for what turned me towards anarchism, probably gotta say social studies class in school. The more I learn about the US government, the more convinced I become that it is evil, and the more disgusted I get with the version of things it feeds its own people.

    What's your excuse?

He wouldn't have gotten fired. The previous fire chief made exceptions in the past for people who didn't pay. It was ultimately the fire chiefs call to let it burn.

The people lost their 3 dogs and 1 cat along with all their life belongings over 75 dollars.

Besides are you really lecturing someone about paying bills?

unfortunately, we need government mandated programs because people are too stupid and lazy to take care of themselves

it's a shitty system they've got there, but i dont blame the firefighters. in that county, firefighting is a commodity and these people chose not to pay for that service. i blame the people who voted officials into office that passed that kind of regulation, and i blame the officials themselves for going through with it.

those firefighters have a different job than government subsidized firefighting branches. they did their job. it's the same as a car insurance company turning down someone who just got into an accident, or a life insurance company turning down someone who's dying in a week. the way things are now, it's the people's responsibilities to take care of these things, not the govenment's.

hey, natural selection right? i have a hard time sympathizing when they had the means to avoid this situation and turned them down. they obviously had the money, too. they're paying a rough price for their own shortsightedness and penny pinching. there are just some things you should not be frugal with. the system in place sucks but until they vote in someone with the balls to change it, they need to adapt to that system. government change doesn't happen overnight and the guys in power now don't give a shit if you think refusing to pay them is a viable means of protesting their ways.
