TL;DR - FFXIV crafting YoutTuber asks for money from community because he was in dire financial straits. Makes a reddit thank you post saying he got more than he needed and he will be returning donations, people on reddit call him out for not planning better. LBR "responds" and tells the main descent to "get aids". Reddit is upset with LBR's antics.




I know LBR people post here/read here, I am interested to hear your guys' thoughts on the reddit thread.

I found it at least a little bit humorous that the bashing of the "cowards" that called Mithrie out for having terrible life skills was bookended by Aneiro begging for more money.

Also they said something to the effect of "This (LBR) is a business, we're very financially minded and plan everything out." Yet they turned on a sort of "nerd voice" and made fun of Firana for advocating Mithrie should have had money saved up. *Pushes up glasses* "I have a savings account, I'm so much better than youuuuu."

So which is it? Are you intelligent adults capable of handling finances well or is having a savings account for losers?

Ah yes I posted about the guy who asked for money in the official forums fail thread. I never knew LBR was involved though.

What makes this game great is that the game is so drama free! Everything so far that occurs seems to occur outside of the game. How's that for a well designed game

I was actually on earlier to talk about the Elysium interview for like an hour and a half lol
I had to leave later and didnt hear the bulk of all this controversy. I know the mithrie thing has been a bit of an issue but it didnt have anything to do with LBR, completely different person of the community

Go with what you know. I think they realized they have 0 valid opinions on raiding to give, so switched to bullshit reddit drama and asking for handouts since they are well-versed in that.

I gave LBR a try, but I stopped listening to LBR because I found that they didn't cover the content I was interested in. That said, I did write in once and they disagreed with my view, but did it respectfully.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that the donation spamming guy was from the UK, and wasn't in any kind of danger whatsoever and did not need donations at all.

I was standing in line 1 team behind them, me and my FC (and the majority of my raid group) saw it. We figured he'd know better than to try and cheat at an event where he is a "community figure". Him and Joe Never were just acting like huge assholes in public, really.
