Three new live action Star Wars films announced at SW Celebration

Film 1 will feature Daisy Ridley returning as Rey, set 15 years after Rise of Skywalker. There is no director attached to this film currently. This is the project Damon Lindelof was working on, but has since left.

Film 2 is directed by James Mangold (Logan) and is a story about “the very first Jedi”.

Film 3 is directed by Dave Filoni and no details were given other than it is set before “The Force Awakens”. So I’m guessing that’s gonna be a Mandolorian/Ashoka/Republic Rangers team up movie if I had to speculate.

No release dates announced.

James Mangold’s movie will go back to the dawn of the Jedi, while Dave Filoni’s will focus on the New Republic, and close out the interconnected stories told in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and other Disney+ series. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s film will be set after the events of Rise of Skywalker, and feature Daisy Ridley back as Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order.

Trying to redeem Kylo after TLJ was one of the many mistakes RoS did.

The one thing I would change about TLJ is I would have had Rey actually reach for Kylo's hand but then be blown apart and leave that aspect of it ambiguous at the end.

The past story is fine since there is a lot they can explore. Just a personal preference on wanting stories that take place after TLJ that isn’t connected to characters from previous stories.

Oh, one thing I'd kinda curious about if we're doing prequels..... is it'd be cool if we actually got to see the prophets who make the Chosen One prophecy in Star Wars. It's kinda weird to me there's so many prophecies in Star Wars but no prophets?
