Guild Mark Leves

I've done probably at least 20 rank 20 leves and have never once gotten a guild mark reward. Is it totally random or am I doing something wrong? I'm talking about local and regional leves both, never gotten a quest that gives guild marks.

Is there a way to increase the likelihood of getting guild mark leves? I'm rank 17 leather, rank 16 blacksmith, and rank 16 marauder so those are the classes for which I'd like to earn some guild marks.

In regards to your crafting jobs, you won't see them until 20+. Also, before you accept them it doesn't list 'blacksmithing marks' as a reward, but rather you get them (from my experience) for having a good rating at the end. However, with the melee jobs you're talking about, they will be a random reward for levees starting with rank 20s.

You shouldn't bother with guild marks before rank 20+ IMO since you cannot buy anything before rank 20 ( and I think you have to do the first job quest, which was only available at rank 23 for my pugilist). There is basically two usefull abilities to buy at 20 ( excluding stats converters), and you can't buy the other abis before 30+ either so... you're not in an hurry.

Once you hit rank 23, guild marks will rain because you will have 9+ leves per city potentially giving Marks for your job, so 27 total, not counting the Faction leves, which generally reward a lot more than usual leves. Doing only leves giving PGL marks, I'm sitting at 20k marks at rank 28 already, and I cannot spend them yet.

That's wrong, you can buy the first set of abilities (6000 marks) before 20. I had Silhouette at 16. At 20, when you finish your class quest, the next set of abilities (8000 marks) becomes available (Firm Conviction). I assume at 30 the same thing happens, and at 40.

I bought and equipped Pummel at 14 PUG. There were three listed abilities in white (the 6k ones, what I assume I could buy) and the rest (8k+) were listed in yellow.

Guild marks fucking suck after a certain amount of time, i am rank 25 and have like 18k guild marks after spending them on fastcast and Elemental Shroud. After a while you get sick and tired of seeing guild marks as a reward for a leve.

I know that when you open up the 20 Guildleves (Rank 13?) that you'll receive a chance for marks on any DoW/DoM above rank 10. I decided to do horizontal levelling at least initially, so I've taken everything to at least 10. My ability to solo the rank 20 guildleves at 10 is helped a bunch by the use of Punishing Barbs on the rank 10 classes.

What's been said above is correct, while I do have marks for all the DoW/DoM classes, I'm not really able to aquire the juicy abilities and traits until later. My ARC is only level 12 and has Multishot, I'm essentially just saving marks now for use later. I can show you the guildmark listing I currently have under "Currency" in the Inventory screen, it was above 26,000 marks yesterday. This does me no good though because I'm only offered the shitty +/-5 attribute conversion traits (which seem kinda opposite for some class focuses) and a optimal rank 20 ability.

That's the thing. If you get offered 1-3 guildmark leves in every city, and I've never been offered a single one, then something about our situations is different. I get that there's at least some kind of random element involved, but I can't just write off complete polar opposite scenarios over an extended period of time to randomness.

So are you saying that the more jobs I have 10+, the more likely I will be to get mark leves? That would certainly explain why Archain gets one almost every time (every class 10+), while I get them never (only 1 DoW class at 10+)

No, the more jobs you have 10+ the less chance to get marks for the job you want lol

For level 30 leves, you can only get marks for 20+ jobs, and I assume for 40's it will be 30+. It definitely gets easier to get marks once you get level 30 leves for the job you want.

It just seems unusual that I have such wildly different results than, for example, Archain who gets guild mark leves without fail every single time. There's some variable that's not being accounted for somehow.

For level 30 leves, you can only get marks for 20+ jobs, and I assume for 40's it will be 30+. It definitely gets easier to get marks once you get level 30 leves for the job you want.

@ Bruiser: It's purely RNG. Maybe you have bad luck because there are no pre-req's. Just to be on the lv 20+ leves

Arch has 7 classes past rank 10, thus 7 chances at seeing marks.

You have one class past 10, one chance at seeing marks.

Arch has way more chances at seeing any guild mark reward, but both of you have the same probability of seeing marauder marks.

That's all there's to it as far as we know.

Luck of the draw. I went 2/2 on Guild Marks from Rank~20 Fishing leves, then went 0/15 or so in a row, now I'm at like 3/20 at least.
