FFXI update issues

Hi I am not sure if this is the right area for this question but im going to give it a go. I Have been playing ffxi since NA release. I have all my original disks/codes/etc. and thats what I play my character on. I have finally after all these years talked my husband into playing with me. He bought the ultimate collection on steam and started an account. It updates viewer just fine but when it starts to update the game it gives the 1158 code. I have looked up this code on different forums and there isnt a whole lot out there about it. SOme of the sites say its a blocked port but if that was the case I wouldnt be able to log in from my pc cause both our computers are on the same router. I have also read it could be old files on the pc from a previous install but ffxi hasnt been on his pc since he got windows 7 and did a fresh install. I also see could be a corrupt file and to check the files which we did and redownloaded the game a second time. He also tried to move it to the C drive instead of where steam put it and that didnt work either. Does anyone have a solution to this ? I am also wondering if it was possible to load all my disks on his pc and him play on it under a guest and me play on mine as me ? Or would that mess up cause its same copy being used at the same time ? Would it work just to use my disks to update it ? I am just lost for words on what to do. ANy thoughts ?

Send an email to steam to request keys, install with your CDs, use said key, enjoy.

Edit: Probably don't need to send an email either, the cdkeys should show up with "View game CD Key" after a right click on Final Fantasy XI.

Thanks so much for the response! He stayed up last night and did another fresh reload of the game and it worked this time lol , although your answer would have been much faster
