Mistwalkers anticipated new game which many had hoped would be Lost Odyssey 2 is The Last Story for the Wii.

Set for launch in Japan sometime this year. Barely any info at the moment, but looking at the name and the logo, it reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy.

Was hoping it would rather be on one of the HD consoles, tbh.

Makes some sense i would imagine, the similarity that is, seeing as how it is coming from Mistwalker/Hironobu Sakaguchi.

He said a while back that he had a lot riding on his next project, and that it was a "large scale project". I wonder if this is it.

I enjoyed Lost Odyssey immensely though I never did get into Blue Dragon. I have my fingers crossed that the translation for ASH: Archaic Sealed Heat (DS) is done in the next month or two so hope to see how that is.

lol I was going to say "Don't forget Monado," then I couldn't find Xenoblade, then figured out Xenoblade is Monado. Damn. Well that's still two interesting RPGs on the way.

And yeah that logo is very Final Fantasy. I haven't played any Mistwalker games yet, so I'll be cautiously looking forward to this and waiting for more information. As a gamer whose only current-gen console is a Wii, this is good news.

Disappointing that it's a Wii game, he can do so much more on PS3/360 Still, time will tell, might just be the game that makes me get a Wii. Then again, might not be.

It almost looks like something aiming at the roots of the FF series. Seriously, the title.... The Last Story. Umm... isn't that just the same thing as Final Fantasy? I mean, literally mean almost the same thing. Not to mention everything about the logo and such is straight FF stuff.

As much as I'd love a sequel to Lost Odyssey (or blue dragon) if this is a traditional turn-based RPG for wii I will probably shit my pants in delight.

Was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the title picture in the first post. >.> I can't complain about more RPGs though, as long as it comes here.

The celtic music on the website remind me of FF4 a lot. They are definitively targetting the old school fanbase with this.

If they manage to create something remotely serious in a medieval/fantastic setting, count me in. Gameplay wise, I'm down for a turn based game if it means we have a massive world and story. I just hope it will be somewhat fast paced (menu and battles take forever to load, and fight are often dragged by long and useless animation).

Huge infodump over the course of a whole lot of updates for the game with story details/concept art.

Plot seems to revolve around a group of mercenaries who are treated like fodder by the high class knights, and so the group seeks to raise their status.

That general concept art makes me so sad that this is a Wii game. Hopefully a HD version of Wii comes out before this is released or something, because Wii graphics are gonna make me sad.

what is this change stuff? paradigm shift, part II? interesting, though there's not much you can really infer about the battle system from a picture like that.

and I think the graphics will be fine, the concept art looks pretty well-suited to the Wii: bright, somewhat cartoonish graphics. I'm thinking they'll look similar to Tales of Graces, which looks great.

Same here. I just hope more info about the battle system (as in, videos) comes in and the controls don't totally suck balls (as in, wiimote).
