PSX emulator issue

I'm using a playstation emulator to play the old FF games, ePSXe is the name of the emulator. I can get everything to work well but my only issue is that I can't get that party box to pop up when I'm in a battle. When it's the characters turn, I also can't see the battle command menu.

Try playing with the settings. Without knowing which specific game, i can't give any specific advice. Try google if you can't get it to work. Certain compatability settings need to be used for some games, etc.

Probably an issue with the graphics plugin you're using in ePSXe. Try going to Config > Video and check the "Special Game Fixes". There's quite a few games that have problems and iirc one of the FF games was one of them. Make sure you don't just enable it, you have to bring up the list of fixes and tick the one you want too. If that doesn't help you can try a different video plugin too, ePSXe should come with a few by default.

And if that doesn't work I'd suggest you try the "pSX" emulator. It emulates the PS1 as-is and doesn't allow you to improve the graphics with plugins, but it tends to have better compatibility and requires no setting up (all you need is the SCPH1001 bios file, which you should already have if you're using ePSXe anyway). I ran through FF7 and 9 fairly recently using it and had 0 issues.

Like said above, if you wish to use epsxe, just google for a set of configurations that works with the current game, should be easy to find. Or just use pSX

Yeah I had this problem too.. it's a matter of changing which graphics driver plugin you use. I'll look at my settings & let you know which one I've got working when I get home.
