I am getting mine shipped to me via Amazon. It should be here either Monday or Tuesday. It doesn't matter. I don't even know why I ordered one truthfully. The battery life is complete shit, and there are absolutely no games out that I want for it. It's going to be a glorified DS player for the first few months I am assuming. And I'm also sure I'll upgrade in 1 1/2 - 2 years when Nintendo comes out with a new model.

Probably a decent chance you'll be able to make a tidy profit if you just resell it on ebay or something then pick it up later when it's actually worthwhile!

Not gonna lie. I thought about doing this. I'll probably open it to confirm it's working like most ebay sellers do. (And take the time to check out Augmented Reality games!)

Everyone I know who has bought one did it to resell it for a profit or so they have an exploitable one when someone figures out how to pirate stuff on it, since chances are Nintendo will fix it asap when something like that gets found.

my friends don't think ahead like that but as far as I'm aware no shop has sold out near me so not sure how the stock is in America compared to England

I made a little money reselling but so far it hasn't really been worth it. Probably gonna keep one of the ones I bought and play Pokemon until something more worthwhile comes out.

It would only be worth a good chunk online, if they sell through current stock.

My brothers small gamestop store sold about 160 models today, and that was only half of what they received. Bestbuy, and walkways near me also had tons on the shelf.

Yeah, not really surprised by that, the Gamestop I get stuff from is in a pretty populated/busy area and there were only like 20 people there at midnight yesterday. I can't help but wonder if Nintendo aimed to have more units than they needed in the US though.

So for someone who really doesn't care either way about 3D or the launch titles, is the unit good enough to pick up to play existing DS titles? I was going to get a XL several months ago but was told by friends to hold off until the 3ds came out. Basically I just want a newer unit but I can probably wait a while.

They didn't really advertise much either... I maybe saw a commercial once or twice on the tv, it wasn't clear that it was something "completely brand new" product.

There are a tonne of 3DS available in Canada. Walk into any store and you'll see a huge pile of them. I cannot play for more than 10 mins with 3D on without feeling like my eyes are gonna pop out of my head.

I expected the 3D to be harder on the eyes, but it doesn't bother me at all. They just blew it with the launch titles. I don't give a shit about any of them yet. Pilotwings Resort is pretty sad considering it's mostly pulled out of the flying game in Wii Sports Resort. I'm waiting for Zelda/Animal Crossing/something else interesting before I buy my own. Also, I'm not seeing a shortage here either.
