So, after looking for months looking for a job, I got an offer to work with my relatives at a medicinal marijuana dispensary. Problem is, I know nothing of weed. I took like one hit a year ago, but from that I know nothing.

I seek the help of BG to explain weed to me. Any kind of links, articles, or just explaining it to me would be of much help. Thanks in advance everyone.

I agree with Kerb, posting a thread about this on the /weed/ section of www.420chan.org would certainly get you a lot of links and information from everyday stoners, and you may even be lucky enough to have someone who works at a dispensary currently or in the past spot your post and give advice on what that job is like from first-hand experience.

Bud tending is super easy. Stoners don't really care. When they ask what is the best, just point to one and they will be happy. You can pretty much just make shit up on the fly.

also this. I definitely care with my bud, certain strains of weed have different effects on your body. Especially the difference between Indica's and Sativa in particular.

Guess I'm lucky to have a dispensary that doesn't carry garbage. Haven't had a bad purchase from there yet. Hell, my script ran out 8 months ago, and they still let me in.

Although this place does suck. 65 for a light eigth.
The shop with the blacked out windows across the street is 10x better. 5 for 45 specials every day.

It sounds more like they haven't the slightest idea what they're doing, despite being a consumer, and the fact that their dispensary's staff is intelligent has kept them away from poor quality marijuana. They may have heard excellent explanations as to why certain nugs are of great quality, but consider it "making stuff up," basically.

However, the fact that many smokers are connoisseurs shouldn't discourage the person who originally asked for help. Ordinarily, people who staff dispensaries are helpful (and if they're not, those shops are oft doomed to fail, since WeedTracker, etc., will contain aggravated customers' complaints), and they'll train and instruct you. Nonetheless, you should read grow guides, some magazines, and other such sources to walk in with a rudimentary amount of knowledge.

This sounds more like a issue of job experience & training. I would just pay attention to your coworkers there and what they say. Most of the information about different strains and the medicinal attributes of each you'll pick up from them. If you run into a question that you can't answer, be honest with the customer - tell 'em you're new and not fully learned in the wise ways of cannabis, and ask a coworker to answer the question.

Thanks everyone for the help, 420chan.org has some good help but I'm looking over everything at Erowid now. I've never heard of a Gravity Bong before that site. I will most likely learn everything from experience over time, but I would like to get some beforehand information before I jump right in.

Most likely you're either going to be basically a pharmacist, else just a trimmer, but that's generally a part time job.

Most of the stuff you're going to need to know, we're not going to be able to tell you. Specific strains and whatnot are going to vary based on where you're working, and even between individuals growing the same shit for you.

Sativa is generally an active high. Indica is otherwise known as "Indacouch." That's about as specific as we can really get without knowing what exactly you're selling.
