    Router Issues with FFXI

I recently changed to a new Router (Linksys E3200) and I'm getting disconnected after 5 mins of being logged in.

I tried the Port Forwarding as listed in this thread.

I tried setting my PC to a static connection as suggested on this site (first page when I did a Google search for the Router + FFXI).

I tried contacting Cisco customer support, but they're retarded and made me change settings that made me lose connection to the live chat. They also had me doing things I had already done (port forwarding).

Yep, main thing I saw that it updated was it added IPv6 related items.

Got it working. Had to reset the router for the settings to take effect.

That's what I get for knowing nothing about routers.

That's what I figured as well, but apparently that wasn't the case.

And now its not working again for some reason even though I didn't change anything from the time I logged out this morning til I tried logging in again. Any suggestions as to what it might be? I tried rebooting the router again and that didn't help.

Stupid question but if you plug your PC directly to the Modem do you have problems?

Just tried it and it doesn't even give me an internet connection which seems odd.

I have no idea what that means.

I checked the modem info page and it says Connection Type: PPPoE.

I'll try the modem reset thing directly connected to pc.

If it's PPPOE you need to create a connection manually on your PC (without the router)

I was gonna say check the router to make sure your PPPOE are fine but if you are posting from that PC I'm sure the net works

I just tried resetting the modem while connected directly to the pc and was still getting no connection so I reconnected to the router so I could check here again.

I'm really confused as to why it was working fine earlier today and then stopped working again even though I didn't change anything.

And yeah, I'm posting from the pc in question.
