LCD TV picture burning in **very** easily

Let me preface this by saying this is a Westinghouse 42'' 1080P LCD, it's not anywhere close to top of the line and I'm not expecting much from it in the first place.

Regardless, this is abysmal and I've never heard of it being this bad anyway.

Simple issue, I get REALLY bad picture burn in on this TV from even the simplest of things.

Like, if you're watching the NFL right now, you can see that there's a score box on the top left and Divisional|FOX box on the top right. Both of those, over the course of the 1.5hr game, will burn into the picture and it will take days for it to clear.

I watch a lot of SportsCenter. As you know, this has a bar on the left and a ticker on the bottom. Both of those have more or less been engraved into the TV.

I've had this TV for about 3 years now, though it was not mine until this year, which is probably why I did not notice the problem.

Is this fixable? Or even just curable, something to make it reset so I can try to prevent it from happening in the future?

I think you might be fucked. This also seems to be an issue with Westinghouse tvs. Wife went out on Black Friday and dragged me to Target. She got a 32 inch Westinghouse LCD. We hooked it up and the picture was god awful. The picture would have ghost images following anything that moved. I have no doubt shit would have been burned into it in a matter of weeks had we not returned it. The best part was, there was a stack of them by the customer service desk which means it wasn't just the tv we got. You can probably try contacting Westinghouse to see what they have to say. But in all likelihood you should start shopping for a new tv.

My old Sanyo 32" "HD" TV did that too. Just get rid of it and invest in a new one.

Was already planning to get a new one but I guess it makes the decision easier now that I know it's unfixable.

lcd not supposed to burn in unless something has recently changed in technology, you sure it's lcd and it's "burn in"? usually more of a problem with projection and plasma technology

used to make burn in fix dvds back in the day kinda like running a script but images too help footwear it , never seen one or used and heard they don't always fix
