Just something I was discussing with friends earlier, that interracial marriage is at an all time high due to how large the country is, I still believe there is still a very prevalent stigma of dating outside your race. I know it's still a big no-no in black communities, no idea what it's like elsewhere.

My question to you, BG posters, is what are your experiences with dating outside your race/ethnicity and how it's changed your views and such.

The entire notion of "race" is manufactured nonsense designed to divide the masses. There are so many mixes out there, who gives a shit. And I'd say this "stigma" is heavily dependent on not only which country, which state, which city, but even which community/neighborhood.

do I say I've dated a person outside of my ethnicity because I'm currently seeing a girl who is half brazilian and half french, even though she looks like a typical white girl with a tan? And I'm dutch, but with my beard I look like a range of Italian, Jewish, Turkish, Greek, Spanish, etc. it gets far too ambiguous. and dont even get me started on the nonsense regarding being "black" when someone is 75% white and 25% black.

Variety is the spice of life. Not dating someone because of "race" is pretty lame. I find different cultures interesting.

I couldn't care less about what races date who. I'm African (Cape Verd.), Mexican, Italian, French, and Native American... needless to say I don't think many in my family ever have either.

Definitely one of those things that generations will (hopefully) phase out soon.

You will be hard pressed to find a large amount of people here that say they are against interracial dating. There is a stigma to it though. I live in Brooklyn so I can only really give you a current analysis of what it is like here. If you are black then your mom will probably want to to date a black person (would say your dad to but lets get real, he isn't at home). If you are a black guy them all your friends probably won't care much if you date white/asian/hispanic chicks but will want you to marry a black chick, but hispanic is fine in some neighborhoods. If you are a black chick then it is basically forbidden to date anyone not black. If you are hispanic then kind of similar to black.

If you are asian then it gets iffy. If you live in china town it i pretty traditional and some marriages are arranged. Most families will shun you for dating outside of your culter which doesn't mean asian I mean no chinese on korean type shit. Outside of chinatown it is less strict and basically any race but black is acceptable.

If you are white then it is iffy like asian. White jew means jew only and never ever an italian. Outside of jew then race doesn't really matter probably most the time, but some people may not like it if not same race.

That data basically show who responds to messages receive by whom based on the race of the person sending and responding. Black is very diverse here. Black men tend to respond to more different races more often than any race/sex group, where as black women respond to less (mostly only reply to black males) than any other race/sex combination. The rest of the races are mixed in the middle. This isn't definitive since it only factors in those people who use okcupid and doesn't figure in on who actually meets only who they reply to.

Mostly dated white chicks but one Asian and one Brazilian girl as well. "Race" isn't a problem but I don't usually find darker chicks as attractive.

I don't think racial stigma exists that much in younger generations these days. There have been girls I've found attractive/datable from every race really.

That said, all of my past gf's were white and so is my current interest. Just happened that way.

Race is a myth.

I think every country has its beautiful people, and I will date people from any nationality. I've had girlfriends from Canada, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong and Korea. I don't have too many African or South American friends because there aren't too many people from those continents where I live, but I am 100% certain I could fall in love with them too. Like I said, every country has its sexy girls, and I would love them all.
