Cannot update GPU driver

I have an ASUS U31S Notebook with a Nvidia Geforce 610M GPU.... I go to Nvidia's site... download the driver for 610M, it downloads but I cannot get it to install and I only get this message:



Anyone have ideas... FFXI is running like shit without it and my computer desperately needs it.

U31SD or U31SG? 32 or 64-bit?

using the driver directly from Asus might help at least detect the card:

someone on Nvidia's forums also said the 302.24 drivers worked for their U36SG, your screenshot shows 301.42, that might be the problem too, look for a newer version on Nvidia's site

I think laptop drivers usually arent supported by the official driver releases. The manufacturer of the laptop needs to release drivers or you need to grab a modded INF file.
