San Diego Comic Con 2016 (July 20th - 24th)

It's that time again... Is anyone going this year? Even if you aren't going there are always events to attend outside the Con. One of the popular events outside Comic Con is Nerd HQ Conversation Panels which is where the Bryan Cranston Mic Drop happened lol. They are open to the general public and cost $22 a ticket.

Also, if you are going this year, plan to arrive a little earlier than usual because the badge system has been changed.

Truly interested in how these work. $22 seems like a lot of money (like x2 a movie ticket) What do people get out of them? Do you know who is going to the conversation before-hand, or is it a crapshoot?

They release a list of guests about a week before and the dates to purchase tickets. It's kind d of like an inside the actors studio thing and the hosts are generally different each time(mostly Chris Hardwick). Afterwards there is a Q and A session from.the audience. The proceeds go to the non-profit Operarion Smile.

Even if you don't get a ticket to the Conversations Panel you can still check out Nerd HQ as they usually have a gaming lounge and then on Saturday they have an all night party that lasts until 4am hosted by Zachary Levi. Admission is free or until they fill up. Tickets can be purchased to buy booze once inside the party.

Yea sometimes it's one person or a full cast. Off the top of my head last year was Bryan Cranston, Tom Hiddleston, Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, the walking dead csst, and a few other stars and they basically had their own panel. It's very intimate in terms of seating compared to the big halls and ballrooms of comic con.

There is a small South Park city setup across from the convention center

Also the bags this year are brittle as fuck. Don't put anything heavy in it I already broke the strap on mine in less than 5 min
