not interested
More story mode, less racing game please.
BLah I'll be back when there's more pics.
Wow, to think I was just thinking of this as I woke up this morning, to be greeted with official news of it.
You're a Runner, what are you supposed to do, walk around and casually pick off bad guys?
Personally, I just want more playgrounds to run about, and a friggen map editors for the PC version.
Only thing a sequel needs is no forced combat encounters. That was the biggest fuck up in the first.
More racing game, less crappy story with pain-in-the-ass fights please.
Soo much potential to do a great game. It was new and i liked it.
but unless some dramatic changes come about.. not blowing 60 bucks. will rent
Cool still need to rent the first just make the game longer and have multiplayer in some fashion and I'll be interested in 2.
i hope they at least add a 3rd person option so you can have the choice of seeing your char. pulling off all those cool moves
The PC version had a 3rd person hack/tweak, just youtube mirror's edge 3rd person for the millions of videos out there, it's ugly....
Other than that, yes, I too love this game.
I can only hope in Mirror's Edge 2 was to have the following, since we know that:
Spoiler: show
should there be a Sonic Adventure type story mode and/or co-op mode. That way if you choose to be Faith you get all the usual running shit/combat avoiding whereas if you choose Kate you get more of a FPS, since she is a police officer. This way, it will satisfy both "markets" (of gamers). But however, depending on how the creators handwave it, Kate could be a runner too since we know Faith is able to take on police by herself and operate weapons already [to satisfy the "Faith" market of avoiding fighting where possible, i.e. no forced combats, the flaw of the first game], it's not too bad to assume Kate could have picked up runner skills in the gap between 1 and 2, depending on where they start off.
That way at the end of it all once you beat both "chapters" you take on the "final" chapter. Which will see them working together.
Then of course there's the multiplayer thing which I won't step into, but the usual races/FPS style play should be there... otherwise, co-op story mode will be a nice touch.
And fuck those DLCs for the current one, the fact they take place in the middle of no where on weird objects/shit/sky really turned me off, I was expecting "cities".
oh well, just random rambling thought, what do you think?![]()
Seemed pretty cool on paper, horrible once executed.
For me, all I'd want is for either all verisons to have a map editor (placement of prefab objects which you can alter to your own whim), or to have the PC version sport an SDK at least.
All I want is the online portion to be driven by the community, and having people be able to race together online in the same fashion as Trackmania, where there's no collision between players making it a pure time-trial affair, but the social aspect is there with chat/voice.
(as well as being able to watch/spectate others do their runs)
Oh wow, I didn't even notice I was reading posts from 2009 until I got to yours and made a wut.
YUSSSSS thank you baby jesus
hope they do away with the animation cutscenes.
honestly with the same fucking gorgeous engine that BF3 is on
your gonna waste the potential at godlike digital cinema on animation with maybe 4-5 colors.
brb touching myself
This. Plus, better shooting.
I'm actually still trying to decide if I got hooked on the pretty Asian and theme song more than the gameplay. I tell myself I really liked it, but It's been sitting on my shelf for years unplayed and I'm probably still a couple hours from finishing it AND I bought it during an amazon digital sale on PC to try the mouse controls, but I haven't even launched it yet.
