HQ Youtube Vvids own my connection

This just recently started happening and im not sure why. Crushes my network on any device, all my drivers are updated, happens on chrome and ie10. If I click 720p or 1080p my network goes to shit, I have 20 meg cable as I mentioned above this is just recent. My PC is hardwired with gigabit to the router.

Im not running any antivirus, windows is up to date so is flash player. Any thoughts would be appreciated. M

I'd would say run a speed test on your connection to make sure you are actually getting your advertised speeds. <-- Thats first and foremost.

Is your internet actually slower or are the videos just loading slowly? Are you doing anything else while playing videos to see if they're affected too? It may just be youtube serving them slowly, I notice that pretty often.

I have a 30/30 connection and 80% of the time I can't buffer youtube at 1080. If it's just youtube videos loading slow or not at all, I guarantee you it's all youtube. Whatever the fuck they're doing is worse than throttling.

Seems I fixed it. I did some more digging and found a final update for my router that wasnt showing up when the router checked for new firmware. All that update did was correct a language pack or something similar but it seems to have solved the issue, for whatever reason.
