    Assassin's Creed 3 Installation error(Free from nVidia)

Hi all! So I recently procured Assassin's Creed 3 from the purchase of an nVidia card. I proceeded to download the games and had no issues. I then tried installing the game, and I received the following error message, "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86(32-bit) or x64(64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

I tried running it as an administrator, downloading the files again(15 GB sure is a fun download!), and yeah, it's not working. I'm hoping a wonderful BGer may have run into the same issue I am having and found a work around. I contacted Ubi support for it, and all they did was leave my ticket open for hopes of a resolution later on, so yeah. Help.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit edition. I've never had this problem before.

Can you try to run the Installation or the game in compatibility mode? (aka right click on setup.exe or the game launcher, propreties, compatiblity tab then run as Windows XP sp3)

Also dumb stuff but important to check

Are you on Windows 7 SP1
Are your Graphic card drivers up to date?

Good questions to ask though! Yes, I am on SP1 for Windows 7. My graphic card drivers are also up to date.

    Assassin's Creed 3 sucks anyway

Nah i read some stuff about gamefly (not saying that's your case) saying that they gave the wrong download to some users, aka they gave a 16bit installer (while windows 64 requires a 32bits installer minimum)

I bet that's what Ubisoft did. That actually makes quite a bit of sense if such is the case.
