FFXIV: ARR - Using WINE/WINERY On MAC?

Work nicely bought everyone spiffy new iMacs so dual boot isnt currently an option. I could bring my laptop in but I really want to learn this.

Has anyone gotten FFXIV ARR to work on mac? If so would you be an amazing angel and give a girl a hand figuring this out? :D

I have found and followed the old How To thread http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/106...XIV-on-Mac-OSX with no luck.

I'm a mac newbie but I was able to get wine installed by using this link.

I get to the point of telling wine to run ffxivsetup.exe; it launches then asks me to install directx, at this point I'm stuck, It wont let me select accept or decline, it just sits there, I have to force quit it every time.




Yes they are extremely lenient here. They even have a Battlefield 1942 server setup in the back room for everyone to log into and play during lunches/breaks if they so choose.....

New client isn't out yet. Wouldn't even mess with it yet.

Essentially only the launcher is out. You can't download any of the game assets currently.

I'll tell you this though: I installed bootcamp on my macbook and it runs ffxiv like a champ on the Windows side.

Anyone get this working over the weekend? I know its kind of irrelevant until Saturday but here's to hoping.

You might have better luck searching or posting for help on reddit. Kind of a limited userbase here where reddit is global site.

Someone did alot of work creating their own mac client, its hit or miss but better than nothing.
