Background on our FC

We started off as a Final Fantasy XI social linkshell in 2004 on Sylph. As we progressed in the game, the shell eventually became an endgame LS. We were very successful in Sky, Dynamis, and HNM, among other activities. I was the original founder, but left the game in late 2006, and the LS leadership transitioned to Shadida, and then Jojoe, the current leader.

We differed from other LSs on our server in that while we were successful at end game activities, we probably didn't pursue them with same focus on gear/gil as others. For us, it's always been more about the camaraderie. It's no surprise that when we started quitting FF11 for various reasons, we all stayed in touch via our website, e-mail, and Facebook.

It's also not surprising that, since FF14 came out, we've decided to team up again. We've even had members that had FF14 v. 1.0 characters on other servers abandon them to start all over again on Faerie, just so they could play together once more.

So, that's us. We're a group of friends that enjoys participating in end game activities, but always with a focus on friendship first (rather than gear/money). It might sound cliche, but it's true.

And what are we looking for?

In short, new friends. Of course, you never know when you invite someone new that it is going to be a good fit. In general, we'd prefer potential members to have the follow characteristics:

-- outgoing (you don't need to chatty all the time, but willing to participate in LS conversations)
-- willing to help without promise of help in return (although, I've always found that if you help, you are likely to be helped in kind)
-- mature (all of us are 22+ with the median age probably being 30)
-- not completely serious (as I've said above, it's not all about gearing up for us, we're trying to have fun together)

What should you expect if you join?

A non-exhaustive list:

1. People to share in-game and life accomplishments
2. People to joke around
3. People to do end game (and non-end game) activities
4. People who will help you, either by joining you in an instance, or explaining game mechanics and how to best accomplish something, or sharing things they have crafted
5. People who may become RL friends

If you are looking for these things, we might be a good fit for you. Then again, you might join us for a bit and decide it is not what you are looking for. That's perfectly OK.

Looks like your group might be a good fit for me. I'm a long time XI player myself (7 years). Me and my wife led a fairly successful end game LS for a few years there. I was considering starting my own FC in XIV but I just don't feel I have the time or energy to commit to it. Im just looking to meet some mature people, make some new friends, help people out and eventually some casual end game. I'm currently leveling PLD(35) and i'm usually on most nights between 7pm-12pm est. I'll look for one of you guys online tomorrow and talk to you about joining.
