There is a difference between poaching, killing for fun, and raising cattle for meat production, but apparently, they don't distinguish between these things. A large population requires an organized way to produce meat for consumption, we can't all go out hunting for food can we? Yeah animal cruelty sucks, but saying don't eat meat is dumb, a juicy prime rib is just too delicious to say no to.

I saw this video a few weeks ago. I really like Rise Against a lot more now. Despite how disturbing it is, its so in your face I like it. PETA sometimes gets airtime on a public access channel and they play those clips. They make me want to vomit. I can't even watch Animal Cops without feeling really shitty.

As to their music: Not really my type. Sounds like recycled trying too hard to be hard semi-punk garbage to me. But hey everyone likes what they like and if you enjoy it, keep enjoying it.

As to musicians playing the politics game: There's nothing saying you can't express your views through your music. That idea is as old as time. When you express it through over-emotional and distorted means like this though you're not putting out a message, you're putting out the emotion. If you're just trying to impart emotion, mission accomplished, but I don't think they were trying to do that here. They totally missed the mark trying to put out an idea, and it's little wonder that PETA jumped all over it right away, since they're mostly about hyped up sources with little actual information.

I don't believe they staged the horrific scenes on the video, they were clips. This is a reality, Rise Against simply shows the world what we don't see.

Everything rots in the ground when it dies, killing something is wrong. On the other hand, killing an animal is like killing a human being, maybe killing humans isn't wrong?

lol killing an animal is not like killing a human being... animals eat other animals and last I checked I have these teeth called canines. Their sole purpose is to rend flesh. Humans are omnivores.. we eat both meat and plants. Killing for fun is different though, but even hunters can be argued to have a purpose especially in certain animal overpopulation cases. Still that is far from killing a human. We are definitely above the animals of this world, that gives us certain privledges and also certain responisbilities.
