Expert NIN solo - Temenos N

Ok so first why do this?

A) Like every NIN in my LS got Appolyon material ready for NIN. I am 3/5 on AF+1 and they would cut off my head if I lotted on it.

B) Every pickup run I did on Temenos NIN material was THE most wanted. Always 2-3 people wanting it.



Temenos N first Floor - Time limit 30 Minutes

2x Goblin Slaughterman WAR
4x Moblin Dustman RDM


The RDMs are walking paths I marked in BLUE. They have NM status but only aggro to sight. You need to dodge them completely by waiting and walking the YELLOW path when they look away.

To pop the 3 Chests you need to kill the 2 Slaughterman.

I advise NIN/WHM or NIN/PLD with Eyedrops. This is no walk in the park like soloing Appolyon SE. The Goblins have a high doubleattack rate, good ACC, high HP and Mighty Strike 2hr.

Special Moves:
-Goblin Rush
-Smoke Screen (Blind)
-Crispy Shower (Firedamage ~350damage)
-Frypan
-Paralyse Shower (Paralyse - weak - procs around 20% only)

Never seen:
-Any sort of Bombtoss
-Crispy Shower or Smoke Screen backfire onto the Goblin


To kill I used EVA and AGI setup minus Byakko Haidate and Brutal Earring.


I killed the first Goblin in around 10 minutes with the use of 1 Yagudo Drink. Enfeebling with Slow Blind and also Paralyse. Was not that hard to tank but bad timed Goblin Rushes, Frypans and Doubleattacks can really ruin your day.

Then I moved over to the second Goblin and killed him in around 15 minutes. He definetly has a higher Level than the first one. My SLOW got resisted 3 times in a row once. BLIND was occasionally resisted, too. Random Goblin Rushes and Crispy Shower cost me 3 Yagudo drinks.


After killing the 3 Chests popped. Of course I took the loot chest and got 5 Coins + MNK material this time. The chance of NIN material should be around 25% since all chests seem to have 4 possible drops in them. The coinage isnt too bad compared to the 5-10 coins I can get from SE.


It definetly is some good fun and challenge over doing SE for the last 6 months

I had read that this floor can also be solo'd by BLM fairly easy just to farm the chest pop for possible items, and I guess this is how they do it. What's the coin count for killing 2 mobs + chest?

We used to run this area with a small group (BRD/RDM and some BLMs). Basically the goal was to pop the chests as quickly as possible, sleep/avoid everything else, and rack in the coins/items.

I never thought about your statement that each chest can only drop certain AF Items. It's probably true though, I tend to see the same AF pieces from the same floors.

Ive always understood that past differentiating between apollyon and temenos, items were free game (any item from any chest). Is there some sort of listing as to where to expect what job if this isnt the case? Duoing Apollyon NW is providing my friend and I ample bard and whm items, but we need to get the temenos counterparts soon now we are almost done with earrings...

If it takes 25 min as a NIN I'd think a RDM/NIN would have trouble 30. I doubt they'd be a problem to sleep nuke though as RDM/BLM.

Back when Limbus first came out I managed to kill a Slaughterman in about 9 minutes as a BLM. They hardly resist sleep, but have a large amount of HP so I had to rest a lot.

sorry but i seriously doubt that theres only 4 pieces of af per floor. Every time we do temenos north we get diff crap. Our last run ended up being 3 pld items and 2 drk and blm. Previous runs have yeilded 3 smn items, 1 war, 1 drg, 1 pld. Etc etc you get it. Its just a crappy random number generator, but its still randomized each time.

From my experience, all Temenos / Apollyons have a chance to drop that Limbus type's AF+1 material for any job -- it's just that some zones seem to favor certain jobs more frequently. For example, BST AF+1 crap seems to be pretty frequent in Apollyon SE.

From what I'm hearing, the NIN AF+1 material seems to be fairly frequent in Temenos N. I'm going to have to try that with my group soon. We have about..8-9 people, but that's the only zone we haven't tried -- or cleared yet.

I can't speak about every Limbus area, but I've farmed SE for months and I've only seen ~4 AF pieces drop from each loot box there. Recently I've been trying to fill in the blanks on the wiki, but we haven't gotten the 4th AF to drop on the second and third floors in the last few weeks.

I'm 90% sure the blanks are WAR and NIN, because I remember seeing it drop but don't remember which was on which floor. On the other hand, I've never ever seen RNG drop in SE (DRK and BRD drop from two different chests).

While I have seen the same as you, I have also seen MNK and WAR in that chest. I have also seen more BRD than I can count from that dumb Ram chest in NW App, where others usually see SMN or DRK. There might be a shortlist of items for each zone, but I doubt there is a "this chest can only drop these 3-4 items." We saw around 5 different items from the Elemental Tem chests before we saw a single BLM. So who knows.

There seems to be some hidden code for it? Maybe differnent on all servers?
