I wonder if the parents are 'relieved.' You don't hear any reaction from them yet, unless its suspect that this guy killed her for a reason, but I assume most people, and most of the books out there, accuse the parents of killing her and covering it up.

I don't think the Ramsey jokes will stop because the evidence is so off the walls no one can make head's or tails out of it. For those of you who aren't really sure what is happening here's a synopsis on the evidence and what has happened.

- One morning JonBenet is missing.
- Ramsey's call it in.
- Police get there and the Ramseys claim to have searched the entire house.
- Ramseys also present a 7 page ransom not that only asks for $118k as opposed to the typical 250k, 500k, or 1M.
- Police begin a search of the house for more evidence(fibers, fingerprints, DNA, etc.) 4 hours after the arrived. Just as the Police are about to enter the basement John Ramsey pushes through the Police and says "She might be in there!"
- Before Police can stop him he is cradling her in his arms completely contaminating the body of any usable forensic evidence.
- Recently John Mark Karr was arrested for the murder and it seems reasonable considering his prior pedofile conviction.
- His conviction however was not for molestation or sexual assault but for having child pornography in his possesion (something many people could be convicted for if the police decided to look).
- The arrest was made 4 months short of 10 years after the murder.
- John Mark Karr says he "loved" JonBenet and the killing was an accident.
- JonBenet died from strangulation, specifically like the trick done in Shanghai Noon when he bends the bars. (Thought to be done for toture or erotic asphyxiation)

Now that you have the facts I have, here's my view of it all.

Let's start with the ransom note. It's 7 pages long which is extraordinarily long for a ransom note, the usual probably wouldn't make it to the bottom of a hand-written page. The ransom is only set at 118k which is a very small price to pay for the life of a human being, especially since the Ramseys were well off. Anyone who was actually interested in either getting money or buying themselves time for "pleasure" would have put it closer to 1M than 100k. JonBenet's death was rather gruesome considering how she was strangled, the step going from looking at CP to torturing a girl for "pleasure" is too large for John Karr to make. (sexual predators usually build up to more heinous crimes rather than jump straight to torture). Her body was also found in the basement of the Ramseys home, why would JMK go through the trouble of taking her to the basement when he just as easily could have taken her somewhere within his comfort zone (something most other criminals would have done before molestation). JMK also showed nothing that would suggest he was into bondage and torture as a sexual act. As for JMK the evidence just doesn't seem to fit into the normal profile of a child molestor, and I don't mean it's missing a few things I mean it's missing just about everything besides a prior conviction.
It also seems very suspicious that the Ramseys claimed to have searched the entire house for thier daughter but forgot to check the basement. The rushing in of John Ramsey also suggests that he knew she was in there and he would have to make sure the Police saw him hold her so that any evidence found on her body couldn't be used against him. The Ramseys also never heard breaking glass, opening doors, or footsteps when JMK took JonBenet to the basement. The way JonBenet was killed could suggest punishment from the father rather than sexual pleasure for JMK.

That's what I have heard and how I've come to put it together. I think it's a setup or they have payed him off to take the dive.

Reading the paper this morning, I find that Mr. Karr was being held in a Thailand jail awaiting charges on a sex crime. I have no idea what the punishments are for sex crimes in Thailand, though after that one cheeky American lad went to... Singapore was it? and acted a fool, and subsequently got his bare ass caned for it... I can fully imagine that punishments in 3rd world countries to be rather harsh, especially for Americans. Seems to me that if I was in that type of situation where I was already suspected of being a pervert, confessing to a 10 year old murder of a child might have a damn nice shot at getting me extradited back to America. Where pedophiles are only sent to jail, as opposed to having things removed... or whatever the Thais do to perverts.
