I've never been to this place, but can you merit on them? wiki says 8ish spawn points, with a 5 minute respawn it seems like it can possibly hold 1 party.

Didn't wafik or someone say they were easier then bugards?
If you hit them on their horn they get ALOT of DEF, but if you hit them on their sides it does normal damamge. I think they said.
Havn't been out there to test myself, yet.
Someone told me they were not worth it, due to VERY high HP. I haven't been there, so I can't confirm though.
I think someone was saying they use an attack down move that takes you down like 70% and then an SS move right after.
I found this out, my friend Karasu posted itOriginally Posted by Dank

A RDM friend of mine said he was surprised to see that his Dispel removed a Berserk effect when a TP move gave the wivre a Haste effect; he figured out after a few more times that one of its moves gives both Haste and Berserk. Don't think he said what the move was called, though.
Also won't be the first time someone who disagreed with it was too lazy to change it, amirite?Originally Posted by Zilong

Went to the old Colibri camp last night. We tried to mix in these Wivre things but it ended up horribly for a few reasons:
- they have a ridiculous defense up move, which we kept dispelling, but he'd usually reapply it really fast
- they have a ridiculous attack down move, it seems like the same affect as from tribats; about 50%
- they can hit with their tail AND their front, so 2x the pain-in-the-assage
- they have some AOE move that strips what seemed like 2~3 shadows
- it seemed like they had a high damgae single target attack but that may have just been the shadow-stripping one
but there is one saving grace...
THEY DON'T AGGRO!
Once we figured this out, it was back to business. Our BRD ditched us because the PT was sucking so bad when we were trying to kill the Wivres, so we stuck around for a bit with five to test things out and actually managed to get chain #35 or so just on the Colibri alone.
So it wasn't godly like it was before, but if you only pull the colibri it's still pretty good exp.
Edit:
Ahh can't say we tested that. Maybe that's the key to making them not suck. Either way, that Attack down was AOE and annoying the shit out of me.Didn't wafik or someone say they were easier then bugards?

I agree with ^ they really are not worth it though, Greater Colibri are much faster. We tested them yesterday and killed a few but their HP is very high, so it takes much longer to kill them. I had a drk and a sam both /thf doing SA on its butt then SATA on tank, they werent doing big damage because of def on its butt and face.
However they do drop Wiver Horn which can be synthed into that new neck peice with +5 acc +5 racc and 8 def for NQ and +6acc +6 racc 9def HQ.

When they use their def boost move (Granite Skin), their faces take much less dmg, their side and tail will have a slight def boost too, but it wears off fast.
They do not move around. Once they are positioned in your camp, much like the shadow dragon, they'll smack you with their tail rather than face you. This makes me a happy thief panda because no melees are dumb and turn it on SA Mercy :D, I'm sure this means drk/thf or lamejob/thf will be happy too.
They have a WS that is berserk + haste, the haste move seems to be +100% haste, it doubled his speed when he was attacking me with his tail.
They have a Spike Flail move, which is absorbable when you have over 2 shadows, It does about 400-600, however it's much better to keep enducing spike flail than having him spam attack down on you.
They are completely passive, so if your party isn't heavy DD, don't pull them![]()
Their evasion is horrible, if you use sushi here you fail, in my haste gear which has only +35'ish acc, I got a "low evasion" message when I checked them. They have high def so they need high attack.
After xp'ing on them for a bit, I think the most suitable party is dd/nin x 3, brd brd rdm (with 1 brd /whm 1 /nin). The attack down will hurt a ton, so you need more than one person with erase, they also have such high defence, so you'll probably prefer double min / march / mad instead of march/march/min/mad. But even with 1 BRD my SA mercy was doing about 950-1300 , about the same as bugards.
Attack down is nasty, as you'll see from this pic

From 4 dmg to 5 dmg on that SS I am under the attack down effect, it's that bad![]()
"Lordwafik is Attack Down" ?
Weird, usually you'd expect something like "Lordwafik receives the effect of Attack Down." I guess SE's getting lazy with the statuses now.

I AM ATTACK DOWN
Bow before me.
Man, and I used to bitch about the avoidable via turning single target STR down from Awful eye...
Man I hope the spell Blu gets from these things eventually is the attack down spell. It sounds very potent. And It would make blu an even better uniqe debuffer. Stacking on Frightroar (powerful def down debuff) and Demoralizing Roar would pwn mobs def and attk. Blu have terror touch which is an attk down spell i think, but it doesnt seem too powerful.
