Level Capped Zones - EXP?

I remember there used to be a nerf on the xp in level capped zones (Pso'xja, Riverne, Promy, etc) if you were higher level. I think it was that you couldn't get chains?
Then I think they adjusted it so you could get chains but it was still comparitively gimped? I forget, hence why I'm asking.

How does xp in level capped zones currently work if you're higher level?

If i recall correctly EXP is gimped, such that you get xp in relation to your level. The higher your true level, the lower the xp. This also applies to xp loss, which is calculated at your capped level.

On the other hand, LIMIT points, at least in the past, were evaluated at FULL value, no gimpage.

What I've noticed is that I get full, true xp if I'm on limit points and half xp if I'm on xp. This is for level 75 jobs farming giant scales.

I didn't remember to compare when I was using my 52 war to help someone with swift belt.

Limit points are gained in full relative to the level cap you're under. So an IT to 50 in Riverne B would give 150-200 limit points. You can get chains.

Experience points are gained relative to your actual job level, down to a minimum of half your level-capped xp. So if you're 75, and you're level capped 50 in Riverne B, you'll get half of the xp you'd get if you were 50.

You can also get XP-chains if you are on a 75 job and level capped at 50, for example. All you need to do is fight EM or above.

The XP you earn will be gimped, but chains occurring or not is determined on the current level of yourself vs. the mob.

I honestly didn't ever know about the limit points being ungimped- and now that you can switch modes outside of your moghouse, this means I'll be going to riverne to farm scales on limits, then swapping to exp for the ENM in order to keep my buffer :D

I've been considering some lazy xp on lowbie jobs (like 37's in 30-cap promyvions).

Knowing it caps out at 50% minimum is good info. Weak xp when you cap there but could be worse.
