Er, go to a high-lag zone, switch your subjob and main job to the same job before the screen updates. Voila, BRD75/---.

It was fixed in a fairly recent update, I don't think you can do it anymore.

It still works, I just did it. Switch your subjob first, then wait 1-2 seconds and switch your main job to the same job.

Like a month ago I took off my subjob on bard, and tried seeking with a /sea that said "melee onry", and I actually got an invite. I asked if it was ok to melee, and they said yeah.

So i went out in a terrible melee set, which got some funny faces from the JPs in the pt when they saw me, and proceeded to completely suck it up. Best thing was, No one complained. No one said a word at the lack of pulling, and terrible damage, and no ballads on mages
