/macro command and how I used it for my blm macros

This is not a debate about SE macro system vs Windower macro system.

About the /macro command

Changes the current macro book
/macro book 1
/macro book 5
etc

Changes the current macro set
/macro set 1
/macro set 5
etc

I redid my blm macros using these commands (not 100% tested - might be some typos but the flipping set commands work)

Basically 4 macro sets total. The top one is my heal/buff/debuff set, the 2nd is my main macro set, the 3rd and 4th are lower tier spells for stuff like level caps or finishing off a mob.

From the Main Macro set, I do the majority of my casting. I have listed a level 4 of each element, so that if I cast something not macrod from the magic menu, I can hit the appropriate element, and my gears set. They are also in the same layout as the ninja wheel/etc.

From the main macro set, I hit alt0 macro x2 in order to /heal. This places me in the heal/buff/debuff macro set, as well as flips on my hMP+ gear, and /heal.

After healing, buffing, pull mob and maybe some debuffing, I hit Ctrl1 x2 to flip all my Int gear on, also sets me back into my Default macro set. Kill mob, if I need a lower level spell to finish (ie drain didn't cover), Ctrl2 to access level 3, and again to access level 2.

From any of the casting level macro sets, Ctrl1 will place it back to the default casting set, from any of the casting levels, Alt0 will access the heal/buff/debuff set.

Overall, I have more lines now than I can afford inventory to flip more gear. Before this, I was hitting my aspir macro to flip 1/2 my hMP gear, then a /heal macro to flip the rest, then * to /heal; this process messed up a lot, just hitting buttons to fast. This also let me put some debuff macros in, whereas I did them all manually before, as well as more nuking gear... ok blank lines for the gear on my wish list :D

Windower macros have been broken once, and only for about 12 hours lol. Longest 12 hours of my life.

I know windower macros are much better and somewhat easier to use, I don't use them because they break, or commands within break or have changed.

In rdm.txt bind file for example

for things used super often (refresh, haste, silena) I'd also bind them to GKeys if you are using one so it's a little easier/faster to cast and optionally remove them from normal binds to free up some macro slots in the "normal" places.

This keeps you from going blind trying to find out where you have to replace a item when you re-gear, I would also keep things organized in the same spots on my macro lines so I can cut/paste if I used windower macros (which I don't!)
