    Waking the beast Farming?

Ive already done this quest once, but am interested in farming the BC if it is possible. I currently have all the eyes except garudas. Does anyone know if I can just get Garuda's eye for carby BC access and use that access to allow an entire alliance without the items? Seems like I should be able to let alliance in, exit the bc and thus not get completion, and farm it.

Everyone needs the key item to enter.

My LS was doing this about a year ago, then people lost interest after 4/5 of the avatars. -.-; I'd kill to finish this finally- free martial staff ftw! XD

Do you know you cant because you tried or because you've heard not? I heard otherwise on this forum some time ago but cant find the post. Not having to do every uberprime over and over would save months. What about if alliance has already completed once?

Pretty sure if you've done the fight (as in, Waking the Best is in your completed quest log) you can re-enter the BC as long as one person has the key items. I think I remember reading somewhere that unless all or the majority of the people have the key item no items will drop, though I've only done it once so I can't confirm that.

    Here's how this BC works.

You need one person with all 6 Eyes to start the BC.

Anyone who has the Faded Ruby key item from doing the BC before, or who have 6 eyes, may enter.

Yes, you can leave the BC before it finishes if you have 6 eyes, and keep them.

    HOWEVER!!

After wining the BC, drops are checked as each person WHO HAD 6 EYES completes the cut scene. You can tell this is how the game does it because the drops come in sporadically, as people exit the cut scenes. Winning with an alliance of 18, where everyone has eyes = 4-6 drops usually.

Winning with 1 person with eyes = bupkiss.

Only way to really farm this BC is to take 18 people through all 7 BCs every week. Generally takes 6 hours to get it all done. Actual avatar fights only take 5 minuets to kill, it's the travel time that kills ya.

    Re: Waking the beast Farming?

I did this Bc awhile ago, and had TH3 (since drops arent from a crate) and we got 1 titans baselarde from 18 ppl. I do not think the CS effects drops, b/c after you beat BC (if you beat it before) you get the option to re-watch CS. And when we redid the 18member avatar runs, we still had numerous clusters dropping from the run, even when we already had 12 with all 6 eyes.

Can either find people with all 6 eyes and re-enter, or have someoneexit the BC be4 the 5 carbies die @ end (so they can still lot weapons if they drop)

I did this with SMNs recently b/c they thought the title might be required for some future summons. Never know with SE....

You only get the option to watch the ending CS if you've beaten it before, meaning you don't have any eyes. In order to start the quest for the 6 eyes, you have to loose your Faded Ruby, and it treats you like this is the first time you've done the battle when you win. No option to skip CS if you have 6 eyes instead of Faded Ruby.

TH has zero effect on drops from this BC, as they do not drop from the enemies, but are put into your pool well after the last enemy dies, as each person exits the final cut scene.

First time the group I did it with went we got 1 drop (Shotel), second time I couldn't attend, but they got 2 Leviathan's Couse and a Ifrit's Bow. Belated (maybe, not sure when you got it) grats on your Shotel btw. :D Good luck getting SMN's to use Shiva for the latent though.

Thanks, and yeah, latent is 60ish damage on easy prey lesser Colibris, and goes off maybe 75% of the time.

Not worth the SMNs MP on anything worthwhile though, tried RDM/SMN + me on Imps @ Khim once, damage resisted down to 5, and only went off maybe 25% of the time.

My experiences with drops may be extreme good luck, but each time I know all 18 people in my alliance had all 6 eyes, and I researched this particular topic before arranging the trips. Groups consistently report better drop rates the more people they have with eyes, and when they try to "Farm" the BC by having people exit before killing last carby so that only a minimal amount loose eyes, the drops are non-existent or just 1 item.

Both the groups I mentioned had 18 eyes too, suppose we just got unlucky. I have Shotel too so I know what you're saying, after testing it on Lessers I was excited to try it on higher level stuff but it gets resisted far too often to be worth the MP cost. Still a great weapon however, <3 +13 acc from Shotel/Perdu on /NIN.

Yeah, I remember there being a lot of 1 item, 0 item drop screen shots when it was first released, seems like it was increased. Can't believe we got THAT lucky multiple times.
