Halp!
Halp!
X-Men: Days of Future Past. Period.
DC:
Batman: Tower of Babel.
Batman: Hush.
Teen Titans: H.I.V.E. story arc, with Deathstroke.
Teen Titans: Trigon, where Raven goes all bat shit.
Wonder Woman: Hiketia.
Kingdom Come.
JLA: Heaven's Ladder.
JLA: Earth 2.
Marvel:
Astonishing XMen, everything so far.
The Ultimates, Homeland Security.
The Crew.
Fantastic Four, that story arc where Victor von Doom and Richard Storm switched places, and Richard Storm was in the Doom Armor. That was so tight.
Other:
First run of Planetary.
First run of The Authority.
I loved The Authority.
Age of Apocalypse story arc was laaaaaaaaaaaaaame![]()
If you are a Stephen King fan:
DARK TOWER: THE GUNSLINGER BORN (6 books long)
and then starting in March of '08
DARK TOWER: The Long Road Home
I don't care if this says Marvel or DC only, Preacher is one of the best comics ever written.
DC:
52, Kingdom Come
(Yeah, I'm not much of a DC reader.)
Marvel:
The new Thor series, Nova, Gunslinger Born, New Avengers, Annihilation, Secret Wars, Infinity Gauntlet, Maximum Carnage, Spider-Man Reign, Silver Surfer Requiem, Silver Surfer In Thy Name, Marvel Zombies
DC:
Crisis on Infinite Earths
Zero Hour
Underworld Unleashed
Final Night
Day of Judgment
Marvel:
Phoenix Saga
Dark Phoenix Saga
Days of Future Past (Kind of ruined because people kept trying to resurrect that continuity)
God Loves, Man Kills
Inferno
X-Cutioner's Song (Just for nostalgia's sake)
Astonishing X-Men (Joss Whedon's run, possibly the best damn thing I have ever read.)
Astonishing X-Men (Marvel)
The Walking Dead (Image)
100 Bullets (DC)
DMZ (DC)
Planetary (DC-Wildstorm)
Mouse Guard (Archaia Studios Press)
DC:
The Dark Knight Returns (I liked the sequel a lot also)
If you are including DC/Vertigo in this, than I have to include:
The Sandman
Preacher
Marvel:
Umm... There was some comics back in the day, but for the life of me I can't remember right now. Some of The Hulk and Spiderman storylines I remember being good.
Batman:
The Long Halloween & Dark Victory
someone mentioned kingdom come, I'll second it and also include Marvels. I love the style of painted comics (for a refreshing change of pace)
Sandman is the best
Batman: knightfall, cataclysm, & No Man's Land; The Killing Joke,
Superman: death of Superman & Reign of the supermen
Green Lantern: Emerald Twilight, Rebirth, Circle of Fire, Evil's Might
Secret Wars 1
Xmen: Dark Phoenix, Days of the Future Past, Just about anything with Colossus, Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 5 or 6 issue sidestory where the go to Japan
Xfactor: part where Angel gets changed by Apocalypse
Spiderman: Clone Saga, Symbiote Story Arcs, Kravens Last Hunt
more I can't think of atm
Oh dear god, that got so out of hand that while I was psyched to see normal back by the end of it (gathering of five) I was actually just glad it was over.Originally Posted by Remy0

DC:
Sandman. Any and all of it, Season of Mists probably being my personal favourite. The mini-story collection "Endless Nights" is superb.
All the Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale stories (dark victory, long halloween, when in rome).
Kingdom Come
Batman: Black and White, the Killing Joke
Marvel:
I liked the very beginning New X-Men, I don't remember name of the storyline but it was exquisitely illustrated by Frank Quitely. Checked Wiki, it says it was called "E is for Extinction"? And rather obviously anything with Wolverine, I'm kinda partial to the older stuff that you can just buy in big phonebook-like collections and browse through. After the first few pretty much all the X-men storylines start to resemble each other. Not that it makes them any less awesome.
Battle Pope? Awww![]()
Am I the only one who really liked Spider-Man: The Other?I thought it was amazing
NONE of you are listing marvel civil war? im reading it right now and highly enjoying it
I can't belive somebody mentioned Batman: Hush, mabye the biggest letdown I personally had with a story arc.
Honestly and I might get torn apart for saying this, going Marvel/DC only my favorite story arc that I ever read as it was coming out was easily Peter Milligan's run on X-Force before it changed to X-Statix, which was good, but not fucking Stellar like the first stuff he did was.
Batman (and entire bat family books) - No Mans Land. just finished reading it today and holy shit it was amazing.
The Ultimates2- whole series was cool but Grand Theft America was extra awesome all cuz of one scene with Hawkeye
Astonishing X-men - entire whedon run
Planet Hulk
Cable and Deadpool - probably my favorite comic series but has really hit the shitter since Cable left.
Age of Apocalypse - thought it was a cool idea, couldnt really appreciate it to its fullest cuz i was like 11 when it came out.
Daredevil - Devil in cell block D
