Sha'ir Manteel/Yigit Gomlek Questions

I was lookin around at some stuff, and I wanted to see if maybe I'm missing something, or if these two pieces really aren't so hot...

AFAIK buff songs are a 8 second cast for the most part, when it says casting time -10/12%, does that mean it casts at the point 10/12 earlier on the % casting bar, or is that supposed to be taken off of 8 seconds? 12% of 8 is .96, meaning Sha'ir wouldn't take any actual seconds off of songs if the game rounded down(which it almost always does, like for recast timers) unless you had the HQ Manteel or a Loq Earring/Rostrums included with it. I don't have either of these pieces, so I'm not sure exactly how it works, can someone fill me in?

It's significant. If you had minstrel's ring and shair, you'd be like "holy shit". Yigit and shair by themselves are pretty noticeable too. A second is a lot longer then it seems

Ok, so then I'm guessing it goes by the casting bar and doesn't round down to the nearest whole second. I was looking at it and did the math, and was like waaaaaiiitt a minute...

Pretty sure its off the casting bar, but as someone above stated, if you use either one, it's a marked difference than not using one.

I don't know for sure, but I do think it's off of the casting bar. Either way, it's pretty noticeable like everyone else said. Being used to casting in manteel all the time then going into salvage naked and casting is like, "Holy shit hurry up." In my opinion the 2% manteel has over gomlek isn't very noticeable at all and not worth the millions of gil. That of course is entirely subjective and a different topic.

it is right off the casting bar, your songs would go off at 70%, minstrels 55%
and yigit looks better then sha'ir imo and the 2% doesnt matter as was stated above

time in this game is subdivided down to small fractions of a second (approximately 17ms long if nothing is faster than the RTC used for delay calculations) so it is taking ~.96 seconds off the cast time (this is done by having the song cast sooner, much like fast cast) even if it were to round down, which it almost certainly does, it would only round down to the next nearest fraction of a second, not whole seconds.

If your a Bard your should be focusing on getting the Yigit Gomlek ASAP because it such a helpful piece of armor honestly(This is assuming you dont have a Manteel and the money to buy one.) With either of those pieces you will

When you are pulling, a second off of casting can literally be the difference between holding chain or not. If you cannot afford Manteel (of cannot get one from your LS), you should get Yigit.

And Manteel looks worlds better than Yigit.

Don't forget to macro in Rostrums for the start of the songs too, along with Manteel/Gomlek. :D

Maybe it's just me, but macroing in fast cast before songs (or any spells for that matter) doesn't work unless I put a /wait in it, which is counterproductive in the first place. I usually just idle in rostrums than macro volunteer's nails(lol) in and out during debuffs.
