Backstory:

My buddy was telling me how one of his co-workers commented, while at a urinal, on the fact that my buddy shaves his pubes. We all know that when using a urinal, you look straight ahead at the wall in front of you or up, but never down and to the right or left. So my buddy was a little shocked that his co-worker would actually make that comment.

A few weeks later, I'm using a urinal and his story pops in my head. I think to myself, "How on earth could someone see if he shaved or not"? You cannot see my pubes.

So, I asked him, "How on earth do you pee while at a urinal"? I wondered if he dropped his pants to his ankles like a little kid. Because, there should be now way someone should be able to see pubes while using a urinal. He told me goes over the top of his waistband on his boxers. Which I thought was weird. That is what the pee hole in your boxers is for. He thinks that nobody uses the pee hole and that I'm the weird one for using the hole.

So, I ask. How do you pee when using a urinal?

Typically, the blue jeans I wear sit a little too high on the waist to just go through the zipper. It's not entirely my fault, as that just seems to be how pants fit me. I even buy low-rise jeans.

Case in point: The urinals I have at work were installed for midgets. They hover barely a foot off the ground and the *ahem* "splash damage" is extensive. I think everyone in the office has realized this by now and have started using the stalls instead. Sometimes you just don't like seeing beads of fluids best not described in detail on freshly-pressed slacks.

And there should be an option for the Prince Alberts in the house. It's not performance anxiety, it's a physical necessity to use the stall

For me, I go through the fly, but it's easy since my boxers have an open flap, and my tucked in collared shirt (at work) splits in either direction in that spot, so all I need to do is unzip and pull it through the boxer flap and fly. No unbuttoning or pulling of waistbands, and nothing gets pinched. And everybody stays nice and warm except for what's necessary to pee with.

That's a valid point. When I was younger, I used to wear briefs 100% of the time, and the tightness of the fly there pinched it off, causing the issues. I wear boxers now 95% of the time, so that probably wouldn't be as much of an issue, but too many years of training the other way has now permanently ingrained the habit. Which, frankly, I don't see the need to change.
