NA vs EU client

So my friend quit and gave me his account so I can PL etc. The problem is, I'm on the EU version of POL and it won't let me log into his NA membership thing to change the account info. I remember reading somewhere when WoTG came out that EU users needed to get the NA client to access registration stuff, is that correct? If so does anyone have a link for the NA POL, I'm having trouble finding it.

I am also having this problem lol. Gonna hold onto a friend's account for him incase he wants to come back but I'm in the EU. Need the NA Client of POL too. Link please anyone? ;;

Alternatively, would the Vista compatible version work for XP too?

Apparently you can install the US version of POL and change some registry settings somewhere and it works. I haven't tried this, but I'd be interested if someone could post how to since I also have access to a NA account with EU POL and had to give my friend my CC details so he could change it for me lol :/

I've had alot of experience with this as I run the EU client with a US reg code. The game plays fine like this, but you need to have the regional POL version from the same region as the reg code installed somewhere to do the changes you need (password and CC billing etc).

The way I got around this was to use the free vmware server product and to have a separate windows install with the US POL installed (in your case the EU POL). So when I need to make account changes I run up the VM to do them.

I read somewhere that a reg hack allowed ppl to run different versions, but I'm not sure if that included access to account information, I suspect not.

You will need a copy of the POL install CD for EU to get all this working of course.

Well I got the vista version of the NA client and it seems to be running fine. My issue now is I can't find where to change the card type. I've looked through update payment details god knows how many times, I got an NA friend to check his and he said to look around in content IDs but I still couldn't find anything. I'd forgotten how unintuitive POL was
