2v2 tourney : Winner Thulius + Zetah

Rules

- two on two with team attack on, this makes things really interesting and really chaotic at times.

- Items off

- Banned stages are : New Pork City, Wario Ware, Rumble Falls, Flat Zone 2 , 50m , mario bros, hyrule temple

- no character banned

- best 2 of 3 with each person having 3 stocks each.

- no time limit

- bracket pairing will be random and the tourney is double elimination - ninja edit Sorry changed my mind thought this would be better in the end, did not expect such a large turnout.

Start Time

The deadline to sign up for this tourney is friday morning at 7 am EDT. (4-4-08)

The tourney will start monday morning (4-7-08) at 12:01 AM EDT. (just after midnight on sunday night.) You may begin reporting matches then. Each round will last 24 hours, so the deadline to round 1 would be tues morning at 12:01 AM EDT.

Read this. It is very important. You may start your round 1 matches at any time during the day, and if you can agree with your opponent in round 2 you may start your round 2 match a day early. The same thing applies for round 3 through whatever, if both teams are able to play then so be it. Play anytime you want as long as it does not exceed the deadline given. This is so that everyone can go at their own pace, and also so no one that signed up gets excluded due to time constraints.

Free agents read this.

If you have not set up a team within the free agent pools by the entry deadline, then i will randomly assign you a partner for brackets sake.

Once you recieve a teammate as a free agent you should pm them on BG forums, and ask about their fc and if they want to practice. if you can't find any live opponents then you can add in cpus online if you really want to. Just try to get a feel for each other's playstyle.


The Bracket

The bracket will be double elmination.
Win bracket best 2 out of 3.
Loser bracket 1 game.
Finals best 3 out of 5.

We used a random number generator to place teams in the bracket. L1-14 corrisponds to where teams will be placed in the loser bracket. For example, If team Shin+Zantar lose the first round they will be placed in the spot saying Loser 4. Winner's bracket is the 1st page, and the loser bracket is the second. Thanks Kurri for fixing my brackets.

Reporting a match/Contacting an Opponent

to contact an opponnent pm them on the forums, in the pm you can ask your opponent to start the match early, if they agree then go ahead the tourney offically starts on monday, however feel free to start the matches before then so you can practice.

To report a match both parties must post with results that do not conflict. so the results have to match. Check in to this thread when you are ready to play. Also if your opponent does not show up by the deadline they will be DQd and moved into the losers bracket. Loser bracket matches are played by ear (so please don't have scheduling conflicts, as im unsure of how to do the multiple rounds) So keep checking the loser brackets i will update them as much as i possibly can, starting monday. I myself will be away for the weekend so i can't play just yet, but i will be able to on sunday night.

Team attack on isn't random and it actually helps because once you've seen 1 snake grab someone while another snake blow them away with a freebie front smash then you'll know why it gives it better team dynamics.

to clarify the pairing of teams is not random, rather who fights who is random

team attack on actually adds strategy and skill to the fight, it has nothing to do with random, most of any team tourneys ive done have actually involved team attack on.

example: game and watches bucket paired with fox. fill the bucket up and let it rip... want a one hit ko? pair with zelda.

Stuff like that. trust me its more fun this way and takes alot more skill/precision, but if no one wants team attack on then of course ill take that rule out

we need 3 more teams for a good 8 team tourney. People who do not have a teammate can post in this thread to seek a teammate and i will add you in the free agent pool. you can choose from anyone in the Free agent pool or opt for me to randomly assign you someone from the free agent pool. if the amount of people signed up is an odd number then the two newest people will brawl it out in a 3 stock match and then post the results, winner gets in. But hopefully we will come out nice and even.

i added hyrule temple as a banned stage per request. I personally like the stage for 2 v 2 because its not huge but large enough for four people i guess. however the wall in it kinda sets up for people to be cheap.
