Varies depending on where you are. OUr law is that it is legal, however, it cannot be red or blue (emergency vehicles only) and the bulb cannot be showing, only the glare. With that said, it's lame and cliche. Don't do it.

Pretty sure everywhere you go red and blue will be illegal for obvious reasons. I'd probably consult with the city PD and ask about restrictions (Probably not allowed to have on while driving, or no flashing, no bulbs exposed, stuff).

I'm pretty sure you can be idle (like in a parking lot or alley) and have them on for show and not get a second look from officers, but you gotta double check with the locals because every state/city is different.

Its illegal to have them on in the UK while moving, pretty sure it's ok while you are parked up.

Some dumb ass that lives next door to us has some sort of Green, Red, Yellow, Blue lights on the bottom of his CRX. The colors change every few seconds or so, I just always assumed he was proud of his sexuality.

well, tbh if i were to get them (lol) it would be only one color and non flashing/flickering, i think those kinds are just... stupid... but yeah, so i guess id have to go down to the PD and ask them, thanks though

The Neon Underglow are as far as I know illegal in almost every state to drive with. Theres certain conditions I think in which they can be used in autoshows and the like in NYC but I'm almost positive they're illegal.

    Re: Neon Underglow (Cars), Legal?

I had it on my last car, underglow purple and interior purple on a black car, was very nice.

Never had a problem, had it on almost 24/7, even got pulled over with it, although to my knowledge it is illegal here, it just never was a problem for me.

Edit: I have a Blue Scion TC now, no work done on it since more important things in my life, but I have been considering redoing the interior and exterior lights a nice shade of yellow, since blue and yellow go really well together. And no, my first car was not a tacky piece of shit, was a Lexus IS that I was sponsored to do up by the local dealership since I knew the owner for many years (used to play golf with him)

Was an amazing car, I miss it Q_Q

If it's illegal then you'll be a douchey criminal. If it's legal, then you'll just be a douche.

underglow lighting illegal in Ontario. It also seems to me unreasonable for it to be legal anywhere, its distracting.
If a cop wants to be an ass, so are spinning rims (for the same reason).
You also cant use any colored of covering on your cars plates if they cover any part of the plate, or limit its visibility (yet just about every dealership will sell you a black plastic border with their name on it).
Lights indicating a forward motion must be [white], not blue (like some halogen mods), on both the front and rear of the vehicle.
Directional indicator lights must be [yellow] or, if the design of the vehicle does not allow a separate housing for the turn indicator lights, then, [red] indicator lights must be clearly distinguishable from the rear running, and breaking lights.
A motor vehicle cannot have any blinking lights other than those used as turn indicators in the design of the car, unless otherwise required by law. (lol security guards)
Turn indicator lights may not blink rapidly, or strobe (thats a judgment call for the officer)
The windshield and front dashboard of all vehicles must be kept clear of obstructions, that may impair the visibility of the driver (dice in the mirrior, GPS systems on the front windshield), or pose other hazards to the driver (loose papers or maps on the dash).

Basically, you mod your car here, you're asking for it.

Illegal on the road, extra illegal as red or blue. Showcar or not, your still a douche if you have them.

Save your money for better tires or HID lights w/ proper housings.

PS. Aluminum wings are for douches too.

This is basically how it is here in California and a lot of the US as well from what I've read. I'm glad too. One thing one mayor was trying to get outlawed was those custom retarded chrome tail lights that are void of reflectors and make the taillights about the size of a christmas light bulb. You can barely see it's blinking within the ridiculous chrome housing.

Fucking retarded mods. I guess looking obnoxious and ridiculous has always been "cool" though.
