    Random Blue Screen

So all kinds of weird shit has happened since I built my computer, but it's been stable recently. Just now, though, after I had reset my internet connection, a blue screen flashed. I couldn't see what it was before the computer restarted.

I think this also happened while I was at the movies, as well, because I left a program running on screen so i could just come home and resume it but it wasn't on screen when I got back.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Edit: So I was checking some things in my program files, and the Linksys folder with the programs in it for this USB adapter is gone. I don't know where the fuck it went!

Also, when I try to change my internet connection to automatic detection, blue screen. I think it's an IRQ error but I can't see it because it flashes so fast.

    - Same thing happens when I try to "Safely" remove the stick, or when I try to uninstall it's drivers. OMFG HELP ME! Somebody has to know how to fix this. Should I just get a PCI wireless adapter instead? Oh god my spleen

Just pull the adapter out, go into Device Manager and disable it, etc. Should prevent the drivers from loading even if the files are still present.

So I just totally uninstalled the adapter and installed one of the PCI wireless adapters that I've used before.

It did the same thing.. Loaded for a while, then gave me "limited or no connectivity." I assigned a static IP as I had to do with the USB adapter, and when I clicked "Close," it crashed. This time the IRQ error stayed on screen until I powered it off. I don't know why it's only doing this with my wireless settings...

I thought it was the adapter, but now I'm thinking it has to be something else in the computer since it happened with two completely different adapters. Could it be the memory?

If you're sure it's an IRQ conflict, then you need to find out what else is reserving that IRQ. First thing you should do is turn on the "Plug and Play OS" option in your BIOS so windows has full control over assigning IRQ numbers. Then run msinfo32 and see what's pulling the IRQs; it's okay for similar devices to share the same IRQ number since they're likely all the same bus (you'll see it a lot if you have onboard USB/eSATA/audio/networking), but if you have two very different sort of devices polling for the same IRQ that may be where your issue lies.

You can view the error in the Event Manager, or go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Advanced Tab -> Startup and Recovery -> Settings -> Unselect "Automatically restart" -> OK -> OK.

That will hold the BSOD so you can find the actual error. (Write down the error code and google search it or post it here)

I fixed the BSOD for now. Turns out it was NVTCP.sys, which is a driver of the Nvidia Nforce Motherboard ethernet ports.

I removed the Nvidia Network Access Manager through add/remove programs in control panel, and everything's working great now.
