FFXI saved accounts info lost

I got a couple of mules info saved on the startup of when I open POL and it's been there for 2years and pratically forgot the ID and pw since you know there only mules. Now, after updating Windower to 3.4, I've lost the saved ID's and pw and can't seem to remember them. Spoke to a GM and told me he can't do anything and told me to speak to POL customer service. Anyone had the same problem?

I don't see what this has to do with the windower but if you change internet connection (A new network card or router) you can experience a password reset. Oh and that also happens with some of the keyloggers. They remove the password so that you have to put it in again. I'd be weary that this might be another keylogger.

I'd recommend to anyone to write down paper copies of your POL IDs and passwords and hide them throughout your house. The chances of someone breaking into your house are much lower than breaking into your computer. Also 99% they wouldn't know what the fuck the numbers are for anyway. This way you get to have really good passwords like kPh28sdSDF2j08 or something which can't be cracked easily and make them different to password you use on everything else (since you won't have to worry about remembering it).

I haven't changed my router or anything, see I had two accounts; the 1st turns up like this "asdnbasdijanbdjasjkdnabijwdwqwqd" and the 2nd shows the details of the last account login ID and pw. I don't save my main account on POL since I have them memorized.

Scan for known trojans and such, sounds odd the "Saved" login info was reset.

I've had POL randomly do it once after crashing. It's not the Windower doing it, it's POL.

I keep a piece of paper in a notebook with my info for all my mules, and don't really move that notebook from where it stays. Worked out great for me so far.

I'll second that it happens sometimes after crashes or seemingly randomly. It's not Windower related at all. ALWAYS WRITE YOUR SHIT DOWN. Calling SE is the only way to possibly recover your ID, and you'll probably need to provide a lot of info including keys and credit card on the account and such.

Lots of things can do it, and almost all of them are PoL related. Changing mac addresses, PoL crashing, and messing around with the file that stores it are all possible causes. As was said scan your computer and call SE with the account info handy to get a PW reset.

Call PoL and have them give you new passwords. Be sure to tell them the account ID as well as the PoL CD keys used for those accounts and the billing information for them.

If you've lost those, well... next time learn to write things down. This is not advanced in any way.
