Not enough falcon punching going on.
Higher teen birth rates? Mostly in heavily religious states where the "clearly superior" method of teaching abstinence is billed as the only solution? Pshaw.

I blame Rap music.
There was a girl in my class today, I'm not sure exactly how old she is but she had to leave early to take her daughter to a doctor's appointment. She looked the same age as me, and I was like "whoa.." when that was her reason for having to leave. I'm 20 almost 21. I don't know anyone from highschool or anything that is having kids yet, but it doesn't surprise me.
Movies like Juno and then that TV show about teen pregnancy, plus little Spears having babies probably doesn't help the whole situation though.
Why are people so surprised at Teenage girls getting pregnant? Shit been happening since the beginning of man. I will put the fear of God, guns, and foots in my teenage daughter so she wont have a baby.
So...are we to also assume that the birth rate among teens declined in 24 states?
edit: meh, I suppose if you only take it to one decimal place there are more ties.
I read in this weeks Time that the government spends $204 million dollars a year on abstinence only education. Oh you silly government.

The daughter of one of the sex ed teachers at my school got pregnant, and didn't realise til she was 6months in (she's 15).
Not like educating us youngins' does any good. If they are gonna do it, they are gonna do it.
What I want to know is the process in which these programs are founded and funded. Is it done on a state or national level? Do districts petition for government funding then get it rewarded to them based upon review? To get the funding, do you need to have it passed by a bunch of guys who you hope the majority share the same view as you?
To get funding you must prove your love for Jesus.
maybe this has something to do with it...
