Help finding online publications - research project

yup, asking BG to do my homework for me.
Essentially, the project is detailing the desparity in readership (monthly) between online publications and print. So I'm looking for online publications to analyze, as data for them is not as readily available.

I'm having some trouble creating a list of online publications (slate, huffington post etc). Basically the New York Times or USA Today of the web.. without the print version.

I'm looking for websites that generate their own content, and although they may link to other websites, that is not their focus. I'm aiming to hit many sectors of publishing, from tech, to politics, to cooking.

What I'm asking of the BG faithful, is if you could provide me with a link to any of the online publications you frequent so I can take a look. While I've had some sucess, it's really quite a pain in the ass to find what I'm looking for through google, more of a word of mouth thing.

Also, just to reiterate, I'm not looking for websites like drudge (although I won't look the gift horse in the mouth as it could lead me to something I can use).

    Thanks

and then look at drudge's page and scroll down to where all the links are, look there and see if they have a print version, if not there you go.

Yes, I've been pointed to the online versions of all the major papers, or blogs. My school is rather small, and doesn't have a lot of staff for the library unfortunately.

I've been hunting through the links as well Saphirea, I was just hoping to get people's personal favorites.

Thanks for politico, nearly forgot about it.

I think any time sensitive news could articulate the disparity between the web and print version. Try the wallstreet journal. Given the sensitive nature of financial news, the print version becomes obsolete at the time it is printed, and the web version is updated throughout the day.

Yeah, that's one of the things I'm focusing on. My internship requires me to read several papers daily, and I keep reading things in the paper a day or two after they happen. It's kind of interesting to already see some of the disparities cropping up. While I don't have all the research nearly completed, I've tried taking a few major topics and comparing them across the major online paper sites, as well as against the online publications. Seeing the difference in total unique hits/month based on how fast stories get out is pretty cool. I'll have to see if there's an actual trend or just making something out of nothing.
