March is almost upon us, and with it comes a new flood of things to stretch my budget to try and get. They said video games is a recession-proof industry, I tend to believe it...
March 1st - 7th
-Phantasy Star Portable (PSP): There's a demo for this on PSN, it plays a lot like PSU. I enjoyed it but I'm not into the whole Monster Hunter thing, this game is apparently almost as popular in japan these days.
-Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard (360/PS3): The videos on gametrailers make this look like a decent parody on gaming genres, but I'm guessing it's rental material only, at least for me.
-Halo Wars (360): I'm not a huge halo fan *hides* but I'm sure this one will be decently big.
-Sonic and the Black Knight (Wii): Why do they even bother continuing to make shitty sonic games?
March 8th - 14th
-Pikmin: New Play Control! (Wii): Is this just pikmin with motion sensing? I don't have a wii, so...
-Madworld (Wii): Looks nifty, I'd get this if I had a wii for sure.
-Mana Khemia: Student Alliance (PSP): The ps2 game was decent, I'm not sure I'd go out and spend full price on this but it looks fun.
-Avalon Code (DS): This looks like a lot of fun, but I'm a sucker for DS RPGs.
-Black Sigil: Blade of the Exile (DS): Also looks like fun, if you like DS RPGs.
-Resident Evil 5 (PS3/360): The big release for march. This will probably be the one game I go buy on day 1.
March 15th - 21st
-Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume (DS): More DS RPGs! Looks amazing...
-Suikoden: Tierkreis (DS) Also looks amazing, endless DS RPGs!
-Marble Saga: Kororinpa (Wii): I'm putting this here cuz I loved the first Kororinpa for Wii, I doubt any of you will go and buy it but yea...
-Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (DS): Looks interesting, I'm not a GTA fan though.
-Rune Factory: Frontier Harvest Moon (Wii): Not sure how good this one will be, I'm not a huge harvest moon fan.
-Resistance: Retribution (PSP): Probably the big PSP release of the season, this one looks like it's worth it if you're a fan of the series I guess.
March 22nd - 28th
-Pokemon: Platinum (DS): Will be huge, I'm sure, as pokemon prints money.
-Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (PS3): Was this slated for 360 as well? hmm...
-Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 (ps2/360): People really liked the first, I got tired of the DW series a while ago but it's still popular I guess.
-Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (PS3/360): I bought the first Sacred for 99 cents and it was really great, I'm not sure I'd spend full price on the console version however...
-Wanted: Weapons of Fate (360/PS3): Looks like a decent licensed game, for once, despite coming out so late after the movie was released. Rental? hmm...
-Ninja Blade (360): This game is getting lots of hype, not sure why.
-Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templar (DS): I really like the series and point-and-click adventure titles in general, hopefully this one will be good.
-FF Crystal Chronicles: Echos of Time (DS)/Wii): Looks decent, hopefully the connectivity is better than the gc/gba version.
-Lux-Pain (DS): Looks like an awesome adventure game...
March 29th - 31st/Also in March
-Tokyo Beat Down (DS): Another Atlus DS game, at least this one isn't an RPG...
-Guitar Hero: Metallica (ps3): People still play guitar hero right?
-Fallout 3: The Pitt (360): More DLC! Looks pretty decent, hopefully they add a bit more content than operation anchorage for 10 bucks...
I'll probably pick up RE5 for sure, considering spending the money on Valkyrie Profile, Avalon Code, and/or Suikoden but since I just bought a flash cart I see little reason to besides supporting developers I like. Lots of DS releases this month make it a pretty rough decision budget wise...
What is everyone else planning on picking up/renting/playing/looking forward to?
April is almost as bad with new releases too...
