BLM The Begining Levels ;\

I've been wanting to take up BLM ever since I first returned to
Vana'diel back in August of '08 and I've been hitting a few bumps
and tweeks here and their.


It's now April 1st, and my BLM is only Level 11, the job I was going
to originally Classify as my Main Job took me 8 Months to get 11 levels in.
could anyone please let me know of the proper way of doing this rather
spam nuke spam nuke, rest.

I've been thinking Dots + Melee would be the way to go but the damn things
rape the shit out of me I find myself binding and running for my life to cure
myself for the inevitable 60 HP when the mob is gonna come running
around the cornor at Mach-1 readying his Fist of Fury to pumble me to death.

food helps a shit load at low lvls and i'd strongly advise getting a few blms smns schs and/or rngs and go fuck up some worms in maze of shakarami for like 2 levels then head over to korrokola.

I just ate a Kabob and slaughtered EPs with a Club until I could solo worms and Beastmen Pets.

With new signet and the XP bonus on EPs, it's pretty easy to kill them on BLM for decent XP/hr while you watch TV or something.

Don't forget to use Fields of Valor and pay for the refresh option too.

Just melee EP-DC to death. /BST if you have it leveled speeds things up since you can charm a DC-EM and let it wail on EPs while you melee (or rest if you need hp/mp)

fairly nice, I was thinking /smn but then remembered carbuncle at
these levels loves to molest my MP.

I think you've been trying too hard and been forgetting how limited your abilities are at these levels.

There's no shame in EP, especially to build up TP for you weapon, so stick with those, especially when you are buffing your level.

A fast-casting attention getter like poison is a good start, then a nuke or two, followed by melee if necessary.

Boiled eggs (hard or soft) give you HP + MP, and I've used them as low level BLM. There's no reason not to try attack or defense foods and see what they do for you.

Use FoV for the extra XP and the refresh and regen, not to mention all the other good stuff when you have enough tabs.

I used a staff, attack food (meat jerky), and fought EPs/low DCs and just ran through them. I used mp just for curing, not nuking. You can tear through EPs quickly, taking only a little bit of damage (little downtime).

Meat jerky, Ash Pole/+1 until level 16 when Holly Pole/+1 becomes available. Slaughter Easy Prey mobs. I did the Orcs by Warchief Vatgit's spawn until 15 or so.

Fellowship NPC will cost you 30% of your XP but will make you much safer and speed up your kills significantly. You might actually have a net gain of XP if you go this route, plus you won't die.

You might be thinking of using the tanking style NPC to keep hate off you, but the truth is that an Attacker NPC will probably hold hate and do more damage, or a Healer NPC will cure you so you don't die. All options are worth experimenting with to find what suits you best.

Moghancement XP will reduce your XP loss from death so you should think about getting that.

You can use FoV points for other things besides Refresh. Consider Protect, Shell, and Reraise.

I assume you are using an XP ring (Empress or Emperor ring) - never forget it.

As has been said, always get your Signet for its hidden bonuses.

A cheap food you can buy in Bastok Mines is Meat Jerky.

As has been said, stick to weak stuff you can plow through quickly without any danger of death.

Fellowship npc ftw at low levels, especially if you've leveled it up and gotten all the job modes for it.

was thinking about doing this but 2,000 additional exp is a lot
at these levels, but I'm level 14 now and finding it to be a lot more
manageable then when I was level 8, probably because I ungimped
my spells finally with bind >.>;

but regaurdless, I'm learning the ropes of the job and its actually
a lot of fun.

just keep on truckin until you get to where you can solo pets....then keep your enfeebling capped and go /nin (until gravity from /rdm) and you're golden. Trust me, the 50s-60s completely make up for the BS of low level BLM soloing.

This is the guide i usually use for solo'ing jobs. I know its a ranger guide but its pretty easy to adapt it to different jobs.

EDIT - I know on the guide it says to keep widescan on the pixie's that are near, but once you've got used to the area you'll know the area's the pixies roam.

In leveling BLM from 1 to 18, I learned a few things:
1. EASY PREY
2. do NOT aggro other mobs
3. Bind, bio, poison, nuke IN THAT ORDER
4. don't kill alone as tarutaru ><

I managed to die 12 times in one day. XD

/MNK is nothing to laugh at low levels. I levelled EVERYTHING as /mnk once I knew how broken it was. Combo is retardedly strong.
